bummer bro 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 15, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

It's a disc golf course. The red bridge of madison county thing is cool. The creek is fun to shoot around. Cement tee pads (if you can find them) not all pads were marked

Cons:

ROCKSTARVALKYRIE said it best... Weak layout! Really bummed they didn't take advantage of the hill and creek combo a little better. Don't be fooled by this being called a 13 hole course, it isn't. There is no hole 5 and the last hole is 12 on the sign. So call this a 11 hole course. It's long, and there are no ace shots. The baseball field fence gets annoying. Not all tee pads are marked.

Other Thoughts:

The guy who designed this course was having a bad day when he came up with the blueprint. You had a gem of a piece of land, but the layout and flow is lacking something. Epic fail.

Every time I play I swear it will be the last... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 15, 2011 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Well maintained, hard to lose a disc, there a few fun holes otherwise its just average

Cons:

The layout is a little weak especially the hole 1 to hole 2 transition, there isn't a hole 5 that I've been able to ever locate, the baskets do have numbers on them and I've walked to every basket and none of them say 5, it goes from 4 to 6 so not sure if this is a true 12 hole or not because of that, windy b/c it's on the edge of town so on non windy days this course can still be windy enough to affect throws

Other Thoughts:

with a few tweaks they could make this a really sweet 9 hole but the layout could use a little adjusting, some cool features like a covered bridge and a creek that winds through out keep it a little interesting, one of my least favorites in the Des Moines metro area

Pros:

Elevation, Rick Reward shots, Some longer holes where you can really let a drive rip.

Cons:

not a lot of variety, a few too many holes where people are walking/playing near the holes

Other Thoughts:

fun 12 hole course, yardage mis-marked

Good for a lunchtime round 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 2, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

Newer baskets. Some interesting shots available. A variety of hole lengths. Concrete pads. Water in play on some holes.

Cons:

A bit righty-biased (a number of right-to-left favored holes with not as many left-to-right to balance out). Several "tweener" holes, or holes of such a distance that they are too long to be good par 3 but too short to be legitimate par 4. Some holes have play equipment in play.

Good practice course. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 16, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

Several longer holes, park is well kept up, parking, shelter and restrooms available. Several open fields nearby for practice.

Cons:

Not much hole variety, plays near and partially through a playground.

Other Thoughts:

This is an open and many times windy course. It's a good opertunity to let some rip while still playing the wind.
