Central Oregon Community College is located in the Cascade Forest of Bend, Oregon. This nine hole course weaves through an alpine forest and incorporates elevation and rock outcroppings, along with stunning views of the Cascade Mountains. Majority of holes on the course give multiple approaches to the baskets, allowing for more variation for the locals. Holes range from around 200 - 375 feet and provide much challenge and a little luck to hit the proper lines and score well. Tee pads have been installed and are good enough for this caliber of course, and the Mach II's are in excellent shape. Locals are very friendly and willing to help with navigation issues.

Once hole one is found navigation doesn't seem to be as much of a problem. However, there is no kiosk, tee signs, or numbers on any basket so first timers will struggle. Try to print off a map or look for one of the friendly locals to follow or even join.

When I played the course they were missing benches and garbage cans and due to large crowds on the course, considering it is located on a college campus and is the only one around for miles, can look like a garbage dump. And since it is so popular, often times you will find yourself standing around waiting for large groups in front of you to finish up. Please be courteous and leave the course cleaner than you found it!

Overall, it is a wonderful course to learn on or to bring a group of friends to so they can learn this great game. I was very pleased with the challenging layout but felt that the course could have offered a lot more considering how much beautiful land surrounds COCC. I hope that one day the college and students/locals can work together to make yet another amazing course in this beautiful state. I enjoyed my time here but it left me wanting more...

New info on hole 1. Its not by the gym or tennis courts or track. It starts in the parking lot after all of those places about 25 ft off of the lot. Its an easy course to play but fun to bring new people to. Its on the c.o.c.c jr. college so it nice and you catch glimpses of the cascades along the course. Bring H2o its up and down hills. Hopefully tee signs and another 9 holes go in.

Fairly challenging course layout for a small 9-holer with limited space.
Distance ranging from 200-380'.
Good variance in elevation.
Baskets were very good.

Numerous holes feel quite luck based, forcing you to throw into a wall of trees.
Rocks throughout the course will tear your discs up.
Numerous navigation issues, hard to find hole one, absolutely nothing indicating the start of the course, no tee signs, hole numbers or basket numbers.
No benches or trash cans.
Course is closed several months out of the year between issues of fire danger and politics with the college.

COCC is the sad tale of a course that could always use a little help, it has a number of cosmetic issues from the rocks (not much to do about that) to the lack of navigational aids and amenities like trash cans or benches. Some of the holes are memorable but the college changed the course around removing signature hole 1 which was a real shame. The course is also closed from time to time for various reasons. The only thing that makes the course worth visiting is fact that it does offer some reasonable challenge, there's plenty of wind and a number of long holes with numerous trees. With a little work and some course improvements it could be a fun 3 star 9 hole course.

This nine hole course is set on the sloping side of a hillside. Holes # 2 & 3 play down the hillside , # 4 plays across and then somehow #'s 5-8 play up the gentle slope. Only you really don't feel like you're playing uphill. The teepads are concrete blocks which work well here. There are signs at each hole. This is no pitch and putt, it will provide challenge to most players. The course starting point has been moved to another parking lot and that is very well posted. I like # 9 best, a slightly, downhill, anhyser shot to a basket mostly hidden by a large pine tree.

It's very dusty and that tends to make it feel hotter than it is. So bring water. It's only nine holes. It can get crowded, but they were pleasent about letting a single player play through.

The slope of the hillside makes for an interesting throw here. Putting in another nine will add to the appeal. I think the course certainly get it's share of use. A definite play it if you're in the Sunriver-Bend area.
