Pros:

+Prodigy baskets that are almost new
+Decent amount of shade
+No bug spray seems to be required
+Some extra tees and extra pin placements
+Good tournament course with a variety of scores possible
+Grass is well-kept
+Has concrete pads
+tee signs are pretty good

Cons:

-flat
-only a couple memorable or unique holes
-tee pads only 10 feet long

Other Thoughts:

Chennault Green is easily the best of the three courses located in this park. It's a solid course with no dumb holes. It has enough shade to stay cool, the grass is always mowed well, and it has my personal favorite baskets, the Prodigy T1s. What's not to like? It comes up short in the wow factor. There's not really any holes where you could be punished straight off the tee, like on a tight wooded course. There's no elevation changes to spice it up. It's a lot of drive, short up shot, putt and get your three, although if you're really sharp you can score low here.

Hole 5 and 6 are the most memorable to me. 5 has the tightest fairway on the course (although still fairly wide) and 6 is a good par 4 that rewards a long and accurate tee shot, the longer off the tee you get without going OB left or into thick woods on the right, the easier your upshot will be into a green guarded by trees and an OB path.

To sum it up, it's good, just not exciting. It's a good place for a league round or a tournament. If you can only play one course in Monroe though, choose one of the two at Lazarre Park.

Green Course: A Work in Progress 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 9, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The city takes very good care of this park due to the large soccer facility & traditional golf course that have been there forever & because of that this course benefits big time. The grass is almost always cut, regardless of the weather. This course is fairly open & easy to navigate. The Am tees keep this course fun for all ages & divisions. Plenty of land to expand this course, or add new pins/tees.

Cons:

Needs signage, BAD! The tees need work in making them easier to find & establishing where they start & stop. Am tees are hard to find, which gets frustrating.

Other Thoughts:

To be a brand new course, still not even 6 months old, this course is awesome! It show's great potential in becoming even better. It's good to see the city supporting disc golf like this, as there are already talks of another course somewhere within the park.
