Short Beginner 18 in Nice Newer Park 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 13, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Cement tees with hole number and an arrow pointing toward the basket on every home. Nice new DiscCatcher baskets with hole numbers on them. Mostly very short holes (almost all are ace runs) but two are around 300'. Holes 3-5 play around beautiful man man rock formations and gardens/flower beds. There is a decent amount of pavement throughout the course so if all was used as OB it would add some difficulty to the course. Good flow with virtually no walk from basket to tee. Low traffic. Very easy to navigate.

Cons:

The course is completely open with only a smaller amount on new, very young trees. Very flat with virtually no elevation change (despite the name). The tees are not grooved at all and can be slippery especially when wet. The baskets are just a bit too high off the ground. The baskets are not cemented in, and hole 14's has a serious Detroit lean going on. Some tees are very close to baskets. The course plays very close to a playground (I had a gimme birdie on 13 that was literally in the playground). No restrooms on site. Very low difficulty and not worth a special trip for experienced disc golfers.

Other Thoughts:

This is a beginner course and should only be viewed as a warm up for the Hart Park courses for experienced disc golfers, unless you're seeking aces as they are easy to come by on this course. Hole 1 starts in an area with no parking so start on hole 13 and work your way around. Nice clean neighborhood and the park was spotless.
