There is a nice water hazard on the side of a few holes. There are also a few trees, which contrary to the other course, Loomiller, it has quite a few trees which make for some interesting shots. Course was well maintained and clean.

The structure of the holes was confusing. After the first hole, you have to go around a large fence surrounding a pond to find tee #2. I had to play through a baseball practice. The space was used poorly, and there was only one bridge over the giant creek, so if you accidently threw long, it was a long walk to fetch a disc.

The creek might have been jumpable, but I was there after a rain, so who knows.

This course uses mature trees and the creek running through the park to its advantage. Hole 9 was my favorite hole. It features three very large evergreen trees guarding the basket. If you fall to the left you are left with a tough shot. Hole 4 is a difficult shot with the creek on the left that appears rather deep. It has mature trees all along the right side and light poles right down the center. A good drive is rewarded. The tee pads were grippy and the signs helped out because there are a few holes in which many baskets are visible.

Hole 1 to Hole 2 was a bit tough to find. Follow the sidewalk past the chained off shed area and the tee is next to the creek across from hole 4's fairway. Hole 8 is straight, flat and open. Hole 3 shoots very close to a baseball field that may pose problems in the spring and summer.

This course is a nice 9 hole that compliments Loomiller DGC about 2 miles away. One can easily play a round at this course in less than 30 minutes. There is a parking lot near hole 1. We like to play this course in the morning, hit up the Pump House for burgers and beer on 6th & Main and then play Loomiller. This course gives me more reason to come to Longmont.

One of the best 9 hole courses I have ever played.

Pin Position in most cases gives you a challenging golf shot with a group of big trees, the creek, or side walks....

Complete tee signs and brand new Disc King baskets....top and bottom being bright orange.....and when the disc hit the chains it almost gave an echo.

No hole under 250 ft feet.....birdieable holes and in range for ace distance, but not so short as to not provide a challenge.

Coupled with Loomiller(a short 1.5-2 mile drive), imho a longer Memorial Park.

Not really any right now...

I wish they had the permission, money, and space to put in a full 18....but it's a moot point if you throw in conjunction with Loomiller only 1 1/2 miles away.

Teepads according to the local club go in this weekend....

Too new to get an idea how the course will be when busy.

Great job by the Long's Peak Disc Golf Club to get permission to put a course in such a great park that offers risk and reward type shots, multiple pin placements on a lot of holes, and just a great "actual"* disc golf course....

* Alot of the courses in Colorado are redundant throwing huge drives and upshots in prairie land or open space but no real obstacles other than that to speak of!

First off, this course is still in development, so I am overlooking the lack of completed tee pads, and signage for the time being, and just focusing on the other aspects of the course.

The thing that stuck out to me most about this course was the thought that went into placing the pins in locations that required great accuracy on a drive for birdy, or on an upshot for par. Many pins were surrounded by bunches of trees that leave multiple lines to the pin, but all need to hit fairly narrow windows to have a decent putt. Many were also guarded by low hanging branches, so elevation control when hitting these windows is needed. Other pin locations are located next to the creek that runs through the park, and if your drive/upshot isn't accurate, you end up OB. It is fairly easy to recover discs from this creek, so risk of losing a disc in it is low.

This course really rewards accurate tee shots, and punishes off target shots. There was a pretty wide spread of scoring in the group I played with, and all of us are fairly comparable players. Hole 9 is the most difficult on the course, which I really like because it can lead to scoring swings on the final hole.

This course is located about 2 miles away from Loomiller Park, another great 9 hole course.

The park has nice grass and is well tended. The baskets are quite nice, disc king, and are bright yellow so they are highly visible.

Some of the holes play over or tee off from sidewalks, so there is the occasional wait to let folks walk past. The walk from pin 1, to tee 2 is a bit long, and difficult to find. I'm hoping the signage that goes in helps with this. Luckily we caught a group of locals between holes 1 and 2 and were able to follow them for the rest of the round.

It is obvious that a lot of thought went into the design of this course, and making the holes interesting. I am eager to see the future development of this course with tee pads, and signage, but if it anything like the other local 9 hole course (Loomiller Park), then I'm sure it won't disappoint.

It is definitely worth a trip for anyone in the area to play this course and hit up Loomiller Park just down the road.
