27 holes of good, challenging disc golf in another beautiful PA State Park. A small shop in the marina sells discs and drinks. Multiple bathrooms are on site. All baskets work well, and there are multiple marked tee off areas for pro and amateur levels of play. Very nice variety- open shots, moderately wooded shots and a couple of very tight tunnel shots. Navigation not bad. Good use of elevation. Scenic views of the marina and lake-views a bit reminiscent of Nockamixon.

The biggest con to me is the lack of quality signage. A course of this caliber should absolutely have them, and it would add immeasurably to the playing experience. More navigational arrows would be helpful. Several tee pads starting to show their wear. Wind can absolutely wreak havoc on your round. There is the possibility other park users can get in your way, and errant throws could wind up in a parking lot.

Although I am a bigger fan of wooded, technical courses, I actually liked the red course at Codorus better for its variety in both length and layout. Plus, the scenery here on much of the course is wonderful. Though navigation is not terrible, there is actually TOO MUCH here (CC and XC holes in addition to the red and blue courses) for there not to be a quality map on the premises at all times. Codorus Red calls upon you to throw a variety of shots while avoiding the pitfalls (water, wind, rough, parking lots) that can doom your round.

Water and rough off the fairway could come into play but are not oppressive and can be avoided with a sound approach to your game. Though beautiful, Codorus State Park is not an easy drive and is way off the beaten path to and from most places, so be prepared. With 54 total holes plus a mini disc golf curse on the premises, Codorus has plenty to keep you busy.

The club at this [ark really knowa what they are doing. Great course with all of the dynamics that make a couse above average for me. Also there is a huge lake that several courses play around. Take a dip if you are here in the summer time.

Too many courses to play all of them twice in a day.

Set in a very nice park with many holes running along the water.

Some holes run through picnic areas and near parking and traffic. Next holes were somewhat difficult to find. The map helped some but it could be better marked.

I'm a beginner and preferred this course over the more technical Blue Course. I would play Red first and Blue second.

Fun and well maintained. Hole 2 is more like a par 5. Some holes located near the parking lots that add some interesting and maybe expensive challenges.

This expansive array of disc golf courses has just about everything needed for a top-notch disc golf experience: shot variety, open and wooded holes, lots of hills, more holes than many people could play in a day, and best of all, fantastic views. Reminiscent of Patapsco Valley but even hillier and with more of a view, Codorus lacks only water challenges and tee pads, but still has much to offer.

When I was there in spring 2003, Codorus had 36 holes, what is now known as the red and blue courses, but did not have the extra nine holes that has been added to each of these courses. Both courses seem equally cool to me - the blue one, comprised of 18 of the original 27 holes, has a better mix of woods and open shots, but the red course has more holes with good views. Holes #5 through #13 on the red course, which I believe were the first nine (of now many) added to the original 27-hole layout, play in and around some picnic areas and parking lots, however, and may have to be skipped during the peak summer season. Both courses feature mostly traditional par 3 holes but some longer holes too - not like Patapsco and Rockburn Branch but still longer than average overall. Unlike those two courses, Codorus does ease up on you with a couple of shorter holes too. Also, except for water, every challenge is presented out here, and more so in the up and down hills category. In fact, Codorus is one of the hillier courses I've played. The blue course is easy to follow, with most holes featuring little signs directing you to the next tee, but I did have some trouble with the red course, since it doesn't have those little signs and isn't as easy to follow either way. But it was worth the effort.

In the end, the lasting impression of Codorus is the setting - the views of Lake Marburg and the surrounding countryside are fantastic. For the most part, the two (plus) courses alone would be well worth a road trip, especially if you're already in say Baltimore as I often am, but the setting makes Codorus one of the best kept secrets in disc golf, featuring great views, a variety of challenges, and not one but two well maintained courses on some pretty land in its own right. Just watch out for the groundhog holes.
