Pros:
Community Park DGC in Troy is a short/medium length 9 hole course in a well-maintained city park. Posted pars are very generous, I believe each one was 4 or 5. If you are REC or above, play each hole as a par 3, and you will have a nice challenging round. Hole 6 is a bit long at 420' with trees in play, I could see that being an am par 4, but the rest are realistically par 3's. I do appreciate the course having 300' par 5's, because for a beginner/younger player, the pars are just about right, and I am always an advocate of courses for everyone. A first or second timer seeing a 420' par 3 in a city park setting could get discouraged. I do think this the only course I've ever gotten 4 'eagles' in a row.

>Nice park setting (my personal favorite).
>Heated bathroom year-round--between holes 4 and 5.
>Pre-COVID, they did have some night rounds here, there are still places on the baskets for the lights.

Cons:
>Baskets are aging single-chain Mach-??'s (can't tell them apart).
>Some teepads are short, but long run-ups really not needed much.
>Other park users can get in the way, especially the always crowded playground on hole 8 and cars are a potential target on hole 2, as are hoops players with a bad early release.

>Teepads--Concrete, good condition, a couple are a little short.
>Baskets--Older Mach ?'s (except hole 1). Showing age, mostly single chain, some are a bit low to the ground.

>Setting--Very nice city park, with basketball and tennis courts, playground and several covered picnic tables.
>Elevation--Flatter than flat.
>Distance of holes--From about 185'-420'.
>Free/pay to play, type of course--Free, city park. Also busy, with lots of kids, so please consider lines and where an errant shot may land.
>Ease of getting to--Very easy, right in Troy, across from Hobart Arena.
AMENITIES:
>Parking--Exceedingly abundant, and you can park close to hole 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, or 9.
>Bathrooms--Yes, year-round flush. Bathroom was even heated in January. Nice for winter play to warm up between rounds.
>Water/food nearby--Abundant in Troy, plus water fountains in park, though closed for COVID now.
>Clubhouse/disc shop--No
>Benches--No
>Trash cans--Yes, scattered thru park.
>Bag holders--No
>Tee signs--Basic, with #, par, and distance, no graphic or hole outline, but most baskets easily visible from teepad.
>Next tee direction/signs--No, but not hard to figure out.
>Wheelchair/cart friendly--Yes, yes. Very flat course, no creek crossings.
COURSE PLAY:
>Shot variety--Average, a bit above for a niner. A couple forehand or turnover drives, most are more straight shot or slight hyzers for RHBH…but…there are ample trees on most holes which do force some shot shaping, gap hitting (nothing too hard though).
>Layout, long walks (inc back to car), loops--One loop, but never too far from wherever you start. Basket 9 about 300' from teepad 1.
>Total distance walked--0.8 miles.
>Ease of finding next tee--No signs, but pretty straightforward, except #3 goes same direction as fairway 2, and across the entry into park. Hole 5 is between tennis courts and street.
>General difficulty--For a city park 9 hole course, It's not bad even for an INT level player if you play all holes as par 3.
>Mud/water issues--None noted.
>Water or O/B to contend with-- None noted, although I am sure roads are O/B.
>Difficult rough/lost disc risk--As close to zero as I have ever seen. Maybe if one gets stuck high in a tree…
>Scrape/scratch risk--Other than pulling a KJones off the teepad, zero.
>How busy was course/park--Extremely--some tennis tournament was going on, but all holes were still playable. Lots of others in the park, but only saw one other person on course, on a beautiful weekday afternoon.
OVERALL:
>Fun/enjoyment factor, would I play again? Yes, it's one of the more enjoyable 9 hole courses I have played. Played here 4 times now. Nice setting, challenging but not difficult rec player level holes.
>Who will this course challenge? Mostly rec to int players, though if you play the course pars, beginners can get some birdies here too. 925 and up would likely have a birdie fest here.
>Is it worth a drive? If you are traveling up I-75 to play Toboggan or Flip, stop off for a respite, only 5 minutes off the freeway.
>Anything unique? Hole 1 is a grueling 240' low ceiling forehand….well, nah.
>Would be a half star higher with--9 more holes, benches, a bit more shot variety.

-no chance of losing a disc
-no mosquitos (that i noticed)

Cons:
-a few holes play threw what could be heavy pedestrian traffic areas as well as near shelter houses and buildings
-1 hole plays right next to a very busy road and discs can easily go out into the road
-kind of far from the highway

Pros:
Very nice park, well kept. Nice Tees. No underbrush to deal with. You can use a variety of shots on this course. Nice signs on tee pads.
Cons:
Busy park, be careful of wandering toddlers. 
No posted layout or signs directing to "Next Tee." The pars are too easy. Big trees with low branches make longer shots really tough (I actually call this a 'pro' also).

This really felt like a beginner course as far as scoring. There were times when I had to make a tricky shot. I loved the fact that I could take my kids there and felt safe with them wandering the park with me (they tried to play a little too). It's a good practice course or casual course for someone just learning to play.

Pros:
Nice terrain with good full grown trees as obstacles. Fairly easily navigable with signs at each hole.
Cons:
It is really close to the playground on a few holes and so sometimes kids will be near. It is a fairly short course so if you live far away I don't think it would be worth a far drive.
Other Thoughts:
Course is short so I recommend playing twice through to make it more worth the trip.

Pros:
Nice course. Large trees and mix of open and wooden holes. Close to town. Can start at almost any hole.
Cons:
Small teepads. Course pars seem like they are for beginners. No par 3 holes. Don't play after rain(which I did). If you play during or after rain, the tees and baskets are surrounded by mud.Fairly easy course. Only worth the drive if nearby. Hard to navigate if playing for the first time. Only one layer of chains.
Other Thoughts:
This was a nice course. I recommend this course to beginners/advanced players. Play 2 rounds in less than an hour if it is only you or a few people.
Signature hole: Hole 6. 420 ft with tons of trees to avoid.

Pros:
Lots of mature trees and and narrow lanes.
Cons:
very short easy course. Only worth the drive if you live within 10-15 mins. In the summer time park is very crowded etc.
Other Thoughts:
Nice course for working on forehands and rollers. Great little practice course
