Pros:
- Grass course is pretty unusual for Phoenix area it seems, but for someone not from Phoenix it played like a pretty typical public park.
- Decent individual hole signage (bit confusing overall course)
- Decent tee pads, but short. Some would call this a con, but some effort went into it and the holes aren't that long so overall I prefer what they did to dirt tees.
- Baskets also in decent shape.
- Decent mix of lengths, nice mix of a couple of longer holes and some ace runs, the trees make for some mildly guarded baskets.
- Good parking close to the course.
- No issues using a cart at this course.
Cons:
- Very, very crowded when we played, and we felt like we weren't even peak hours.
- Public interference was a real thing, combined with the above note this is a course I would try to play at off-hours.
- Not a ton of space to work with, I'm personally not a fan of jamming 18 holes into what only has the space for 9 holes. Other players were super chill that we met, but the overlap between holes is definitely annoying.
- Not overly challenging/interesting from a topography perspective.
Other Thoughts:
- Overall, thumbs up for what the course designers were able to do with what they had to work with in a public area. It's not a destination course, but I'd be happy to have this as my local course if I lived in the area. We met some really chill people and enjoyed our short, quick round. Nothing wrong with this course if you just want to get a round in or a warm-up round.
