A Place To Throw a Few Short Holes, Not Much More

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 8, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Close to Charlottetown, most of the courses are at least a 20 minute drive.

- Lots of parking in the north lot, usually you can find at least street parking in the small back lot.

- There are garbages, public amenities etc. as it's in a field and school complex.

- Baskets newer and in decent shape.

- Course is mowed, no overgrown areas.

- You're unlikely to lose discs.

- Hole 3 is a fun hole and probably the biggest drive at around 300 feet downhill, though you probably won't be penning letters home about it or devoting a chapter to it in your disc golf memoirs.

Cons:

- Very busy, course plays far too tight to popular walking trails and other sports facilities like soccer fields, basketball courts, walking trails, and baseball diamonds.

- Not the greatest layout in terms of safety, you really need to make sure you're clear to throw if the area is at all busy, which it often is.

- Dirt/grass tee pads.

- Signage is only hole numbers, use UDisc.

- Hole 4 is comically short, like 70 feet or something.

Other Thoughts:

Is it a great course? No, not really. But am I happy there's somewhere to throw in the Cornwall area? Absolutely.

The only thing that's a true negative here is that you need to be in control of your discs whenever the public is around, which is fairly often if you're playing weekends or early evenings.

1.5 isn't slagging the people who put the course in, there's not much you can do with the space other than what they've done, so there's no real complaint here, it's just not really possible to get higher than a 2 star rating with the available space.

You can go out and throw a few holes, snag a 70 foot ace and not tell anyone it was only 70 feet, and do the full course in 30 minutes, so it's absolutely fine for what it is.

With Raider's in Charlottetown not being well maintained and overgrown and the Stratford park with damaged baskets, this course is probably the best option for in-town Disc Golf. With that said, it's only 10 minutes further to hit Hillcrest, so if you've got the time, drive the extra 10 minutes.
