Reviewed: Played on:Apr 27, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

(0.915 Rating) An open layout that's not worth the effort.
- BEGINNER FRIENDLY - Due to only one overgrowth area and also no water hazards, this would be a decent course to bring a beginner to. The course is probably also nice for those players in the neighborhood looking to practice.
- QUICK PLAY - Despite bad navigation (see cons), this course is quick to play. I even wondered around for ten minutes and still finished in a half hour.

Cons:

An abundance of issues with Cottonwood.
- PRIVATE - No trespassing signs are evident when entering the park. I would not recommend trying to play here without a neighborhood resident.
- CHAINS - The baskets are eyesores to look at, single chained and falling apart. My putt on (9) landed in the basket and then rolled down to base of the basket and out of it! The basket wires had pulled apart far enough at the base to fit a disc. What's the PDGA ruling on that?
- TEES - Unmarked 4 by 4 concrete pads that are as useful as a submarine with a screen door.
- NAVIGATION - No course map or directional cues on site. I did not find tee (6) or tee (9). I shot to the wrong basket twice. The course map on DGCR is marginally accurate as of this review and it helped me get a general idea of where to look for tees and to decide which basket to fire at.
- CHARACTER - As noted above, the basics of tees, chains and navigation are all very poor. As for extras? They are non-existent. Among the worst courses I've scored in this category.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - This was surprise seeing all the beautiful homes just prior to entering the park. Lots of house back yards in the backdrop. Basket (3) has a water treatment plant in the backdrop. Chain link fences frame the left side of fairway (9). The course is mostly open fields with few trees.
- UNIQUENESS - No elevation, no water, few trees equals.... boring.
- SPACING - Not good. Hole (6) plays over a soccer field. Fairway (3) and (5) cross. Parking lot in play on (9). Baskets and tees are separated poorly a couple times.
- LACK OF TECHNICAL CHALLENGE -Mostly a bomber layout that even includes a 700 footer. No technical skills are required.

Other Thoughts:

This is one those courses that I sort of wish wasn't listed, so I wouldn't have been tempted to try and throw it. The constant feeling of getting thrown out was combo'd with a poorly up-kept and poorly designed course. The neighborhood should remove the baskets. This place is a bad disc golf experience.
