Better than expected

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 27, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

A few holes have 2 baskets
Most holes have 2 tee's
Very good use of the land. Wide variety of shots

Cons:

No tee signs
Grass/mud tees
Some tee's are not marked.

Other Thoughts:

I would consider this a sleeper course, or maybe a diamond in the rough.

The 2 Cowskin courses are funded by the local clubs from my understanding. Improvements to the course are slow in coming, but they are constantly working on them.

Cowskin West is the newer course. Grass/gravel parking lot on the opposite side from East Cowskin. There is a Kiosk.

However, you better have a map or at least UDisc to figure out where you are throwing.

Some of the holes have long and short baskets in place, I played the long tee's to the long baskets. I used UDIsc to find the tee boxes. Most were marked, but a few were not. I do believe all the long baskets were new Axium Pro with DD stickers on them. Either way, they were fine for the course. The short baskets looked like salvaged baskets from other course upgrades. (which is fine)

The course has several technical shots though wooded areas. Plenty of defined fairways. A couple of holes that would be considered par 4's.

The rough wasn't too bad except in a few spots. In general, I really enjoyed playing this course. If it was on a constant mowing schedule, added cement tee pads and tee signs. And some general TLC, this course would be a 4 1/2 star course from me for sure. I still rated it 4 because I really enjoyed playing.

Would I play here again? Yes, in fact if I was in the area, I just might play both. Would be a good tournament course for me too as it is not too long or too technical.
