Challenging wooded course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 4, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Front nine is tightly wooded with well-defined narrow fairways.

Back nine is more lightly wooded and a little rougher, with less well-defined fairways and some chances to air it out, but accuracy is still crucial.

The shots over the gulleys are really fun. They offer the same challenge of shooting over water hazards without the risk of losing your disc in the water.

Front 9 is short enough to be a good beginner course if the beginners don't mind bouncing some discs off trees.

Cons:

Front nine favors the left-handed back hand player a bit.

Only one set of tees.

The terrain in the back nine is still pretty rough, with lots of large dead branches everywhere.

Very little in the way of elevation changes despite the terrain offering some opportunities in the form of the gullies.

Other Thoughts:

This is my favorite "in the woods" course that I have played, with Bandemer Park, Thornhill Park and Saltspring being the others that I have played. I really like how there are well-defined, but narrow fairways that require very accurate shots to get to the pin in the front nine.
