One of the better church courses

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 16, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Decent signage
good mix of shots including wide open bombers and tight technical holes
Decent use of elevation and natural fairways

Cons:

Tee pads in the woods are gravel.
While they do catch good and are brand new, black hole portal baskets tend to not last long.
A few of the holes are hope and pray shots.
A couple of wide open shots

Other Thoughts:

I think it's great that a this course is in the ground. Very nice kiosk with a course map at hole one. The first hole is a wide open shot, just don't turn it over.
2nd shot is decent, using the elevation to throw at a basket you can't see. It's mostly an open shot but forces the turnover.

Then you get into the woods for the next 7 holes. These go up and down hills and across washes. Both left and right shots with very tight and tunnel shots.

Hole 10 is a monster hole, elevated tee over a deep valley with the basket on the other side. It's 421ft and the 3rd longest hole on the course.

Hole 11 and 12 are both mostly open shots with 12 being the 2nd longest hole on the course. Then back into the woods for 13 to 17. Included in this might be the signature hole 17. Almost 500ft hole going up and down hills to the basket. Decent fairway too in the woods.

The last hole throws from the churches large patio up a large hill to a basket you can't see. There is a parking lot that comes into play too that you can't see so it might be good to walk up the hill to see where to throw.

Would I play here again? yes I would. This gives you 4 decent or fun courses to play in the Hot Springs area. I really liked the wooded holes and would like a chance to throw better now that I know the layout better. So many holes you just can't see the line off the tee.
