Pros:

Nice variation in hole lengths, ranging from 170' to 430'. The few available trees were used well, coming into play to some degree on four of the six holes. For example, hole 1 has a tree to miss on the drive and a tricky low-ceiling approach to a guarded basket. Holes 5 and 6 also offer some obstacles on the fairway, requiring the player to hit one of several available lines. Designers did what they could with the land available, and overall this was a quick and reasonably enjoyable sping. Chance of losing a disc is near zero, unless you got one stuck in a tree.

Navigation is pretty straightforward, even without a course map onsite. The course runs counterclockwise around the field, and all baskets are visible from the tee. Tees are marked with a temporary post and sign for each hole. No hole map, but tee signs include distance, par, and a description of OB for each hole. For such a small, open course not much more is needed.

Portable baskets were mounted reasonably level and caught well. No benches, but how often do you need to rest from your exertions on a flat, 6-hole course? Indoor bathrooms are conveniently located near the multipurpose fields, plus there are a few port-a-pots elsewhere in the park. Trashcans are located near the bathrooms, and recycling containers are available on the course. Ample parking.

Cons:

This course is only six holes, flat as a pancake, and the two longest holes (3 and 4) are wide open. Natural tees were a bit uneven, but otherwise in good shape. Most site activities are well separated from the course, but I did see some people flying kites and walking dogs within range of a poorly thrown tee shot. Pavement OB is in play on a few holes, but the pavement should not be much of a factor unless you misplay your drive. Risk of hitting a car is pretty low.

The main con is that this is a temporary course so I do not know how long it will be available to play.

Other Thoughts:

Since this is only course within city limits, play it soon if you want to tie for #1 bagger in DC. It is a shame that there are no other disc golf courses in the nation's capitol because lots of wooded parkland within the district looks eminently suitable. RFK Stadium is visible from the course, for those who have fond memories of when Washington, D.C. used to field a competitive football team.

The Fields at RFK Campus is a 27-acre recreation site on the west bank of the Anacostia River. The site features a ton of other activities, including extensive playgrounds, hiking and biking trails, dog walking areas, and several turf multipurpose fields. This makes the site suitable for a family outing with a quick side of disc golf.

The course is easy to reach via a 2-minute detour off the Anacostia Freeway, a 15-minute walk from the Stadium-Armory Metro stop, DC Streetcar from Union Station directly to the course, or Capital Bikeshare.
