Had the potential to be a good course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 17, 2019 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-Easy course to learn to play on the open holes
-Close to where a lot of people live and go to school
-Holes 5-10,17, and 18 are very fun and open shots
-Not crowded at all, I am usually the only one out here

Cons:

-Maintenance on holes is non existent
-Holes 1-4 and 11-16 are basically unplayable
-Most of the course is on desert land that is basically unplayable
-Baskets are old and sometimes spit out discs
-On college campus so there are people everywhere
-Waist high grass on some holes in the prairie.

Other Thoughts:

CSUP is a decent course if you know how to play it right. Holes 1-4 and 11-16 are basically unplayable. You could tell when they first put in this course, they trimmed the grass, cactus, and bushes back but they overgrew again from lack of maintenance. Its just like this course was set up and forgotten about. What i usually do is start on hole 5 and play through 10. These hole are on campus and are actually really fun when you are trying to get your shots down. They are nice and wide open and if you hit them on the right day there is no people to hit. Its a good course to play when you get tired of the amazing city park and worth a try just for holes 5-10, 17, and 18.

Open, Fun Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 10, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Open fairways with few trees or other obstacles to challenge your throws. Good course to practice new techniques and a few holes even to challenge the long drivers. Has a Pro(blue) and Am(red) tee-pads, all concrete.
Unless during the wet season there are no water hazards.

Cons:

Other than the wind there isn't much that can challenge experienced golfers.
No distance readings on the teepad posts so not knowing a estimated distance the 1st time around made for some interesting shots.

Other Thoughts:

Navigation was ok, with it being open you could see where baskets and teepad posts were.
Upkeep needs to be addressed, there is trash, broken bottles all along the course.
Playing in early spring brought nice cool temperatures and windy conditions.
I hit it just right on a Saturday afternoon and had the course to myself, I could see how playing the holes next to the campus as being difficult when classes on in session.
