river bottom trees

Reviewed: Played on:May 21, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

+tee signs
+shot variety (left, right, par4s, ace runs, some tight gaps)
+not busy, space mostly dedicated to disc golf
+views of the bitterroot river
+lots of parking

Cons:

-flood plane, a lot of rocky river bottom
-no elevation
-cheaper baskets (they catch ok)
-navigation (had to refer to the map a few times)
-no benches

Other Thoughts:

-a few of 5 gallon buckets for garbage
hole 1 has paver tee, but the rest are all just the frames (for now, I hope these will be pavers like 1 eventually).
1,2,&3 near parking, but after that you go out & back, so bring everything you need for all 18.
a couple of poke and hope holes, which might annoy some people; i think it's fine to have a couple, just not more than 3.
hole 10 has a mando, but I couldn't see which way and 12s basket is visible from the tee; so i had to replay when i got to the mando where you can see the basket & and mando to the right. a few other holes weren't straightforward & could use better signage.
I played in may & the bitterroot river was high and there was lots of water on parts of this course (8 a complete lake). I played 1 & 2, then I saw the water on 3; it was only ~250ft, so I threw across thinking maybe there is a bridge; no bridge & my disc on the other side of knee deep water. I had my knee waders in my truck, so I put them on & my feet barely stayed dry. i needed these waders 3 more times in my round, and the water on 18 was too much; I could have hiked back to 3 where i crossed earlier, but it was the last hole & i ran across thinking maybe I'm faster than the water can go into the boot; wrong. I sloshed down the dogleg of the final fairway, got the disc in the basket in 3, then right to my whip to get out of my soaked socks.
fun course, certainly worth the stop if in the area.
