Safari Course in the Mountaineer State 2+ years drive by

Pros:
This course--at least one time or another--played along the front lawn of Davis & Elkins College in rural central West Virginia. The baskets are still there, but, like some kind of archaeological mystery, no signage or tees remain! As such, I found myself playing safari disc golf here to compensate for the lack of signage or a map. School was also not in session. Pros to the course include:
- The course has baskets! Woo hoo! Although these have seen better days. (see cons section)
- Nice elevation for a college campus course. Normally these types of courses (except IUP's College Lodge) are pretty flat. Three of the baskets play along a nicely manicured hillside and could utilize some nice air if the tees were in place
- The place is beginner friendly and a fun place to play safari-- because it's the only way here!
- Course plays on a scenic and historic campus. If I went to school here I'd totally fix it up and try to start a disc golf community among the students.

Cons:
- LACK OF TEES AND SIGNS! This obviously makes it hard to play (& review) the course. It looks like the course has been abandoned for years.
- The baskets are ridiculously old, have only one set of chains, and some are rusted. One basket is snapped in half (see photo). I can see some tough drunk college kid breaking it on a dare.
- Very open with little in terms of wooded holes or any type of obstacles/challenge
- Baskets are close together, which suggests that the holes were probably pretty short. This isn't surprising since the campus doesn't have a whole lot of land with which to work.
- The baskets play very close to tennis courts, buildings, and the road. I had to layup several times to avoid hitting these things
- It's only 9 holes. Well, there's the potential for 9 holes.
- As you can imagine from the rest of the cons, navigation is terrible and provides no clue as to where the course begins/ends.

Other Thoughts:
- I drove about 30 miles here after camping near Seneca rocks, WV. While Elkins as a town has amenities like food and lodging, it's still in the middle of nowhere. It's a shame there aren't more courses around the area since the Cannan/Seneca valleys are popular tourist/camping/recreation retreats. I can easily see a nice course by one of the campgrounds or resorts nearby-- anything as long as it has tees!
- I'm starting to see why no one has reviewed this place. while I was a little disappointed with the lack of tees and thus, a true course, the 30 mile drive was not a complete waste. It's a nice safari outing if you're nearby, but save your gas and time for Paw Paw or Fairmont for 36 holes of quality disc golf per location.
- The reason this gets a 1 and not a 0-0.5 is that the course is somewhat enjoyable. The campus is quite beautiful with the landscape/buildings and the elevation on some holes is a redeeming quality. With that being said, however, Elkins & Davis is incomplete. The place has no tees, signs, or any indication of where you're supposed to play. Furthermore, only 8 of the 9 baskets are operative, as one is snapped in half. If the tees were in, marked well, and new baskets were installed, this would probably be at least a 2-2.5 course depending on the tee placement.
