Pros:
Great mix of shots and shapes down the fairways from the tees!
Walking lines clearly defined and navigation is better than usual with object courses. Most tee areas and target trees are marked well despite a few of the target trees not visible from the tees and are blind shots (designed).
Very scenic course. From the tee area of signature hole #6, you have fantastic views of nearby valley and down into town.
Under-the-radar.
Cons:
Tees are dirt bordered by logs and oftentimes uneven but most are clearly defined.
Trees are marked with white spray paint that is faded but still visible from the corresponding tee area. There are a few blind holes where a short walk off the tee to locate the target might be necessary.
No amenities at all which means no bathrooms, benches, trash cans, or signage. Please pack out what you brought in and keep the area clean!
Other Thoughts:
This course is also sometimes called Upper Thumb Butte.
Tends to be gusty which isn't a Pro or Con but does change your strategy on some of the long holes where distance is needed in order to have a chance at a birdie.
Aside from School House Gulch, this is the clearest and most defined object course in Prescott.
Location Details of the course are incorrect. Parking area is @ 34.540920, -112.552868. First tee borders the parking area and points SSE.
