Other Thoughts:
Bring your own water! They are in the process of putting in a new well. As of August 1, 2022, there is no water in the park. Check their website for updates. Also, the bathrooms are pit toilets. Didn't bother me, but might if you are a little squeamish.
This park is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by Amish farms. There are two access points to the North Fork of the Elkhart River which is relaxing just to sit and watch. There is also a large playground area. If you have kids, that would be a reason to visit in itself. There are also two large areas of "natural" prairie grass which gives you a glimpse of what the area might have looked like 200 years ago. The grass/brambles are waist high in the summer. It comes into play on two holes. Definitely need a spotter to help find a lost disc. After the first frost and until spring, it dies back and lays down making disc finding much easier.
Completely new course for 2022. They have kept the three "wooded" holes added in 2021 and added five more. They also changed each of the other holes. Gone are several long open shots in the grassy area within the loop road. There are often large (100 buggies) Amish gatherings that would have a couple of baseball and volleyball games going at once on the weekends - interfered with a few holes.
Every hole is now par 3 for a total of 54. Gone are the few 400+ foot holes. Only three are 300 or more feet. Better for people like me that don't have the distance but may seem too easy for some. Holes 13-17 in the woods are 141-159 feet. I ran a string of pars and one birdie am I am not that good. I will have to play it a few more times to see if the disc gods were smiling on me or the course was that easy.
The map on the park's website is pretty accurate. Drive down the park's long entrance road and park next to the bathroom before the loop. Hole one is just on the other side of what was an old pavillion, now open picnic tables. The old cement block tees in the ground are still there - ignore them. New tees are wooden boxes 14x6 feet, filled with gravel. A thick rubber map on top is 12x4. Actually, longer than I needed. Targets are marked with a yellow flag. Numbers are on laminated paper with zip ties and already coming off. Hopefully those were just temporary.
Holes 2 and 10 go over/around a small pond. If there is a wind and you have a floating disc, go for it. If there is a breeze it will end up on a shore.
Holes 3 through 8 are last years 4-9 with the exception of #3 target has been moved 50 feet to the top of a little hill.
After hole 6, turn to left keeping prairie grass on left and cross road to tee 7. After hole 7, follow mowed path to left 200 feet to opening in woods for tee 8. After 8, leave woods and cross road. Tee 9 is on other side of horse stalls. Target is to around the overgrowth/swamp to right, near tee 1.
Backtrack a little from 10 target and you will see an opening in the trees and Tee 11. Target 11 is in the middle of a clump of 10 pine trees before the entrance road. After hole 12, turn to your left. You will see a walking path the emerges from the woods and then returns back in. Follow the path to the right over a small bridge to hole 13. 13 - 17 are in the woods, 18 is up and over the hill in the open area.
I upped my rating to 3.5. With the addition of permanent numbers on the tees/targets and moving a few of the wooded targets for more difficult shots it would be a 4.
