New layout in 2017, now 18 holes 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 21, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course was expanded to 18 holes in 2017. It was previously a really fun 12 hole course, and the best features remain, plus the changes are all positives. Some new concrete teepads. The best thing about this course is the variety. Excellent use of elevation, really fun water hazard holes along Duck Creek, short technical holes in thick woods, and a couple of long bombs. The new holes add more uphill shots which were somewhat lacking. When all holes are in the longer basket positions, this is a really challenging course. Two legitimate par 4s and a couple other that are debatable, probably on scoring average they could be considered par 4 but can be reached.

Also the old oak trees throughout the park are fantastic.

Cons:

Cons: Some variations in the teepads...some rubber, some concrete, one uses existing asphalt from a walking path. In a couple locations the other park users on walking/biking paths are definitely in play, have to be very alert when teeing.

Other Thoughts:

If baskets are all in the short positions, it's much less challenging but still a fun play.

Great course! Not at the level of West Lake or Camden II, but it's definitely the 3rd best course in the Quad Cities and a must-play if you're in the area.
