Pros:
-Challenging and variable layout for each hole.
-Very little repetition.
-There are tee pads.
-Little interaction with pedestrians.
-Baskets are in good condition.
-Multiple tees
Cons:
-Tee signs are faded or gone entirely.
-Tee pads are a mixture of different materials.
-Flow is confusing right now.
-Many holes overgrown to a point where safety is a concern.
Other Thoughts:
My initial rating for this course is very low because it is terribly overgrown and essentially unplayable in spots. However, this course would be an absolute gem if it was cleaned up.
The holes need to be mowed/bush-hogged. Weeds, thorns, and forest undergrowth is out of control. It appears the local club is small and the city shows no initiative to help maintain.
If cleaned up, the layout would be legit. I played despite the conditions and loved the variability and creativity in how goals were located throughout the course.
I just moved back to the state, and this is my childhood hometown, so I want to help whip this course into shape. But, it will take a significant effort even with dozens of volunteers. I would suggest reaching out to local scouting groups to see if they want to take this on as a community improvement project.
I will keep an eye on this course and update this review when the conditions improve. I will include details on each hole when they are a little easier to review.
