Well Designed Wooded Stream Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 28, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Lots of tree trunks, the stream, and a few out of bounds areas make this course very interesting and fun.
Despite the thin area, this course is well-designed so that errant throws aren't lost, just penalized.
Absolutely gorgeous scenery and a well tended park.
Good maps and signage

Cons:

One out of bounds area is the parking lot for the park.
The trail is fairly busy with pedestrian traffic.
Some longer walks between holes.

Other Thoughts:

The good design of this course makes me wish that it were 18 holes instead of just 12, but there is only enough space for the 12.

First round at Dry Creek Trail 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 18, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Good tee boxes, easy to find, brushed texture improves grip during throw. Tee pads narrow toward basket, so you always know which direction the hole is in.

-Clear signage with map of hole, length, and mandos.

-Mowed fairways.

-Most holes are good, long shots. Trees are present on all but 3 holes. Good for beginner or intermediate players.

-Good quality DisCatcher baskets, most are marked with the hole number.

-Bathrooms with drinking fountain adjacent to parking lot. (and the bathroom was really nice for a public park!) Also benches throughout the park.

Cons:

-Distance between basket and the next tee is quite long on one or two holes. After basket 5, you have to walk the entire distance of hole 2 to get to tee 6.

-Signs for holes 1-6 are correct, but 7-9 do not match the map. Hole 8 has hole 7's sign. No sign on hole 9. Tee 10 has hole 9's sign.

Just follow the map and you'll be fine.

Other Thoughts:

Fun, quick play course which is easy to get to from the freeway.

Park with a lot of shade on sunny days, and it is maintained very well. Nice creek running through the middle of the park.

Might want to jump in a tube and float through the park after a couple rounds!

Fun 9-Hole Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 21, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

It's a fun park with great surroundings. I love playing through the trees and getting a variety of shots that range from a simple flick across an open field to a forced layup on hole 8, (my personal nemesis hole).

The park is in much better condition than previous reviews indicate. The baskets are all there, including the putting one, and aside from a couple that look like the lawn mower smacked them, are in good condition and straight.

Cons:

Hole 2 has some dirt mounds in the middle of it. That is better than it was in the past when it was all june-grass, but can be a bit annoying.

Course seems to favor back-handed throwers, so most holes force you to throw right to left.

There is a lot of walking between some holes.

Other Thoughts:

The park isn't huge but could easily be redesigned to suit a full 18-hole course. There is a ton of wasted real estate around holes 3 and 4 and in between the long walks.

Overall this is one of the better courses in Northern Utah in my opinion.
