Baskets are in good shape.

Water hazard in play with moderate risk (aka this idiot threw a disc in the pond and had to get laughed at by fisherman as he searched)

All fairways were simple truck paths. Overgrown brush on each side and 8-12 feet of clear fairway. This was not a course designed by a disc golfer for disc golfers.
The paths selected were the first to flood. 2 holes were completely unplayable because of shin deep water on fairways that stretched over 20 feet. A course designer can not do much about flooding, but when there is a parallel path that is not flooded you begin to think that the design has flaws.
The drainage issues also made mosquitos unbearable. I reapplied every 2-3 holes. There were times where my disc was just a few feet in the brush and I debated looking for it because the bugs were so bad.
One of the holes had a broken limb hanging down in front of the tee pad making the hole unplayable. A total of 3 holes were completely unplayable, but all 3 were temporary issues.

I want to give this course a 1.5, but if you remove the drainage issues and mosquitos the course is reasonable. Clear the underbrush and this course is a 2.5
I was camping on site and you could not pay me to play this course again during my stay.

East Harbor is a very nice state park, as far as state parks go, so the setting of the course is nice as well. This course would bode well for beginners in ONE aspect...That almost all of the Par 4s should be Par 3s, and there should be absolutely no Par 5s on this course (there's 3). So, as a pro, and not a con, if you're a beginner or want a nice pick me up as a seasoned player, this course will offer you a nice score. This is the sole reason I gave this course a 2.0, and not a 1.5 or 1.0

Like I said above, almost all of the Par 4s should be Par 3s, and there should be absolutely no Par 5s (I finished the day with 9 pars, 7 birdies, and two eagles...And I'm not that good by a long shot). The lack of distinguished tees left me to rely on the tee sign for an idea of where it might be. After Hole 10, the tee signs become very simple with just a white number on a green sign with some of holes after 10 having a Par number written on them, as well as a crude drawing of the fairway, all done with what looks like a Sharpie. The fairways do become narrow and slightly irrelevant to the location of the cage on occasion, often with poison ivy awaiting any errant throw to the left or right. I fancy myself a decent recovery player who can play out of the rough, but the swarms of newly airborne mosquitoes made it tough to concentrate on the shot, so staying in the fairway is paramount! Also...There's a pond near the first two holes that isn't put into play whatsoever...Make one of the cages require players to throw over it!

It seems like this course isn't quite finished, what with the poorly marked tees after hole 10, and the lack of tee pads. If it is finished, and no more work is in the foreseeable future, this course will forever be deemed a 2.0 in my mind. With a bit more work and creativity though, this course could be pretty decent. Oh, and those par ratings definitely need to be adjusted.

This course is in a really nice secluded park with plenty of ameneties in the park and in the nearby town. The surrounding area has plenty to do for the whole family; there's even an african safari just a mile or two from the course. The course seems to get very little traffic and it would be easy to imagine having the entire course to yourself for the day.
There are not alot of pro's about the course itself, but there is some nice terrain that the course plays over and every hole has a very nice new Mach V basket. The front nine has very nice colorful tee signs. The course over all offers a wide variety.of shots and will require you to really think through your shots

The over all design of the course is poor. There are a few holes that really just need a complete re-design. Hole 7 offers you absolutely no way to get to the hole except a couple short throws up the fairway or throwing a large anahyzer and lucking through some branches. It is important to know that if you do not stay in the fairway it can take alot of throws just to make it back on. A fairly high rated player in my group landed 20 feet off the fairway and it took 5 strokes for him to get clear of the brush. When I played hole 16 not a single player in my group considered using the fairway since it was so off track. If no one even thinks about using the fairway there must be something wrong with the line. There are quite a few holes where just putting your way along the fairway is probably the best option, there are no real gaps or alternate lines available. On Hole 18 the only option to get a duece is trying to muscle up a drive to punch through fairly thick brush.Once again no one considered using the fairway at all.
Many of the tees just need moved 5 feet one way or another especially before they pour concrete.

Hole 15's tee lines right up so you are aiming directly at Hole 16's tee (one of the routes is over 16's tee and is only 150 feet away).
If Hole 14's tee was moved forward 5 feet it would offer multiple lines to the pin but where it is now, a very sharp annhyzer is the only option.
Hole 8 if moved to the right just a few feet would also provide a line to the basket but where it sits now provides only a poke and hope.
The Shule! Holy crap the under brush is wicked. I played this course in March before the undergrowth had even started to come in and it was still amazingly difficult to play at all off the fairway. I think when summer was in full swing it would be just shy of impossible to play this course without losing some discs and alot of skin to the thorns.

I really didn't hate this course but with the available land it could have been significantly better. It seems like a bit of an amateur design which could benefit from some experienced guidance. Everyone that I played with had the same feelings about the course. Remove the undergrowth, clear some new lines and adjust the tees. Please also keep in mind that this is not a beginner friendly course at all.
This is a course with potential in a great location that just comes up short.
