fun quick course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 5, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

The course has a lot of trees which require concentration and controlled shots. But has short holes which make for a quick round without a lot of slogging around. It's an engaging course. You can tell there's a lot of time and care put into the course. They also added 6 holes which looks like a lot of work to get together.

Cons:

Have to be careful where you step as there is plenty to trip on and soem of it sharp.

Best in the area 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 22, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The layout is one of a kind in our area. I like the variety of shots and the technical nature of this course. The course has it's own club and they do well taking care of the course and the people around it. Every time I go, I meet someone new and have yet to meet anyone unwelcoming.

Cons:

Rusty metal and glass dot the course but this was built on a reclaimed clan dump site so it's to be expected.

Fun, challenging course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 21, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Very challenging, tight course. Lots of trees and some hills.

Cons:

Built on old city dump, so some broken glass and steel sticking up on the ground. Just wear good shoes.

Other Thoughts:

Would recommend this course to anyone. Lots of fun.

things are coming together 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 22, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

very technical, tight fairways, all fairways are mulched where grass is absent, concrete pads on every hole. trash cans/benches/tables on every hole, every hole has signage wether it be permanent or temporary.

Cons:

no long holes for the big guns, you might find some residual landfill trash if you get too far off the fairways because this site was a dump years ago.

Other Thoughts:

b pin placements are in the works, will begin clearing for this project very soon.

Wood Lovers Dream 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 7, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The best part about this course is the diversity. There is a little something for everyone at Elwood. Short and tight fairways throughout most of the course which adds for a challenging around.

There are tables, benches, and trash cans on every hole on the course.

All concrete keypads.

Interesting and unique pin locations.

course also has a practice basket.

Signs with distances on all holes as well

Cons:

The number one issue with the course is glass. Much of the glass has been taking care of by the spreading of mulch. The only downfall of this course is it was built on a city dump.

Other Thoughts:

This is one of the best courses in central Indiana. Super fun and challenging yet fair. Lots of interesting holes at Elwood if you haven't played it I suggest you make the trip, it's well worth the drive.

Getting Better 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 22, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

As everyone else has said... great baskets, tee pads, and technical shots. We have done a lot of work at getting it cleaned up. We have trash barrels at almost all the holes now and a few benches. We are getting signs soon for all the holes. We are holding Saturday Doubles @ 10am.

Cons:

Still have some minor cleaning up, but it is definately on its way to being a great course.

TMac & The Silver Fox 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 11, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great use of an old dump. Taking a dump and turning it into a course. Yes there is trash, but more potential than anything. The holes are short but very challenging. Rumors of 24 holes one day. Chainsaw carvings throughout the course. Im excited for Elwood.

Cons:

Trash but that can be fixed with time. Be careful if you take little ones. There is metal, glass and etc. sticking out of the ground.

Other Thoughts:

This will be a great course with time. Walked some of the other holes with the designers. The new holes will have some distance on them. This is a win for Elwood, disc golfers and the enviroment.
