Pros:

1) No obvious flaws--it is decently maintained, has quality and functional infrastructure, good if not spectacular layout, okay scenery, good shot variety, and it "puts up a fight" with reasonable, if not overwhelming, difficulty.
2) The course has quite a few 400-500' downhill shots, which are always fun.
3) Related to point number 2, the course's strong use of elevation in general is probably the best thing about it.

Cons:

1) The antithesis of what I wrote in the "pros" section is that while there isn't anything wrong with the course, there isn't much spectacular either.

It is reasonably maintained, but could use some trimming in spots.
The equipment is fine, but not top-of-the-line.
The layout is solid but not amazing.
There is variety, but other courses require have more. It poses a decent challenge, but every hole is a par 3 for most players (most people that travel the country playing disc golf, anyway)

2) On a couple holes, power lines seemed to cut directly through the airspace I needed (9 and 14 I think?)

Other Thoughts:

Everwood is representative of the type and caliber of course that you find in a town of Macomb's size. It's the type of course that if I lived here, I would play a lot But if I was driving from out of town, there are other courses I would prefer.

I don't mean to be overly negative--the designers did a good job with the land (and presumably budget) that they had, and at the end of the day I enjoyed myself.

Pros:

This course is set in a nice quiet park. The moderate amount of trees on the front 9 makes this a fun and challenging course while the openness of the back 9 gives the arms a chance to shine. The tee pads are very large and made of concrete. The layout does make you think a little about the type of shot you want to take as well as trajectory of the disc. There are restrooms right off of hole #1 and Hole #9, which is nice for those hot days when you have to drink a lot of water.

Cons:

The layout was very confusing, even with a map. I wouldn't want to try this course without one. The lack of tee signs compounded the confusion factor. I drove right past the first tee, not even noticing that it was there. The walk to tee #10 is fairly long, as is the hike back to your car from #18. I should have listened to Greg Cobra and moved my car.

Other Thoughts:

The first 11 holes were quite fun and was a challenge with the wind blowing at 20 mph (gusts to 30). The last 5 holes were just frustrating because of how wide open and boring they were. The water on 18 does not come into play unless you really shank one off the the right. Also, I'd have given this course a lot better score if it had tee signs.
