Don't bother drive by

Pros:

The holes that are actually playable are decent. There's ample parking and restrooms available. Downtown Sheboygan Falls is only blocks away.

Cons:

No markings, no tee pads, no numbered baskets. All wooded holes are unplayable, if you can find them. Hard to play even with downloaded maps because you're skipping and missing holes.

Other Thoughts:

This course might have a chance if the city of Sheboygan Falls did some maintenance on the wooded holes by clearing fairways and greens. It seems like they are dumping branches and cuttings into the wooded edge of the park making the problem even worse. The fencing around the now closed dog park absolutely has to go to even make the riverside holes nearby playable. I think local players would be more interested in participating in course maintenance if the city could at least do the heavy lifting in the clearing out department by removing the vast amount of deadfall from the river fairways. Clear the stuff out and run it through the chipper on site to make chips for footpaths and greens.

Pros:

This course is still pretty rough around the edges. The baskets are beautiful, brand new Mach V's. These catch great. They have one of the bottom rungs of the cage painted blue indicating the direction to the next tee which was helpful. There are no tee signs or pads. They have 2 blue painted 4x4 posts in the ground serving as the front 2 corners of the tee area. They also have the hole number on 1 of these. The distances all range from the 180ish to 300 ft. Either hole 3 or 13 I would say are the longest. 13 being drastically downhill and 3 a wide open field shot. The rest are sub 250 I'd say for the most part. There's some elevation used quite well in spots. Hole 11 and 13 mostly but there's some undulating terrain on 4 making the basket blind. Otherwise mostly flat. The river comes into play with an overthrow on 4. Or an errant shot or tree kick on 7 or 16. They used this feature about as well as possible. The course starts and ends near the parking lot. There's a couple wooded tunnel shots here to break things up a little bit. The course is permanent and is free to play.

Cons:

To start with. Navigation is an absolute nightmare without the map on Udisc. There's no way you'd ever find your way around here without that or a local guide. There are no next tee arrows anywhere (the blue paint on the cage helps to an extent) and there are quite a few long walks between holes. There are no numbers on the baskets either further complicating navigation. To make matters worse the tee markers were out of the ground, moved or just gone on more than half the holes. I'm sure they move them when they mow and never put them back. Also hole 8's basket was gone. We found the sleeve for it where it said it should be on Udisc. So it's already missing 1 basket. Holes 9, 10 and 18 are all pretty close to the park road or parking lot. Also the rough is pretty thick in spots. Not really a con per se, just be aware because it can eat discs.

Other Thoughts:

I would bump this up to at least a 3 with some tee signs and a basket on 8. The natural pads are fine for me here, but obviously concrete or even rubber would be better. The course is still really new but I'm reviewing it by what I just played and this is what I felt was warranted. It's the most cons I've thought of for a course in awhile. I wouldn't go out of my way to play this course...yet at least. It is a good addition to the area but there are still a few other better 18's nearby if you're just passing through. Hopefully they keep making improvements because It has some potential for sure.
