Pros:

A church course that's actually fun and pretty nicely laid out. Good on First Baptist.
- It's a simple layout. But, it's a simple layout done well.
- Save for a few strategically located trees on several holes, it's a wide-open course. Trees, or a singular tree on certain holes, come in to play on #2, 3, 5, and 6. That's it, unless you shank a shot way off line.
- Nice, simple flow to the course. Holes #3 - 6, especially, offer a pleasant stroll through an isolated, tree-lined field.
- Easy to spot tee signs. Biggest issue will be with the long walk from #1 to 2.
- Short course that's great for beginners and kids. More experienced players will want to bring a couple discs simply for the ace run opportunities.
- Birdie and ace runs galore. Other than pars on 2 & 3 (after hitting trees), lots of easy birdies. Over the last 4 holes, had 4 tap-in birdies as I was making runs at the basket.

Cons:

Hole #2 tees off next to a ball field and has players throwing towards a track. May have to skip or throw cautiously if other activities are going on.
- Holes #7 - 9 throw over or alongside the parking lot. If there are cars here, these holes are unplayable.
- Tee signs are lacking. They're simply hole numbers. On some holes, not much of an issue. On blind tee shots, or holes where multiple baskets are in play, a little more of an issue.
- Lack of amenities.
- You have to search for the first basket. It's in the upper parking lot. If you park here, it's a decent walk from the 9th basket back to the lot.
- Other than that, it's a pretty simple, straightforward, layout.

Other Thoughts:

I was generally pleased by this basic, yet enjoyable, layout. For a course playing essentially in an open field, First Baptist's course is a quality layout.
- Only one hole has multiple obstacles in play: #3. Otherwise, it's a couple of trees on #2 and #6.
- I really enjoyed the stretch from #3 to 6. It's a secluded section of land with enough room for these four holes, or a couple of safari layouts.
- You could easily play the course a couple of times through. Or get in some quality practice time here.
- Fantastic course for casuals or beginners. Introduce a group of kids to the game here and let them have fun.
- Simple and fun. Great course for a warm-up or cool down after some of the areas better layouts.
