It's 255' to the pipe from the long tee. Use that to judge how much of the water you want to try clearing.

From the long tee it can be risky playing the straight shot to make it to in-bounds territory. There's a safer RHBH shot if you bail out up the right side. But it's a risk-reward proposition being harder to get to the basket on the safe line. Since you re-tee if you never cross in-bounds, many a player has taken double or triple-OB scores on this hole.

There's a small ditch that runs perpendicular to the fairway just before you get to the second manhole cover. You want your disc to cross that ditch in the air because skip shots just get stuck on the upslope and almost never make it into the in-bounds island.
