Long, dog-leggy, 7,000 foot course with lots of fairway tree patches

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 28, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Lots of distance (7,000 feet)
- Disc golf only, nothing else to worry about out there. Nice setting.
- Convenient parking, appears to be lots of parking at the building.
- Turf tee pads are decent, just long enough and better than dirt pads and they're clearly marked (played in dry conditions, not sure about wet)
- Newer baskets in great shape
- Signage was up to date as of end of April 2023
- Easy navigation for the most part, especially with course on UDisc. Check the baskets for directions to next hole.
- In spite of lost discs being a threat and the distance, very few blind shots where a spotter is needed.

Cons:

- While paths are clear and they've done an excellent job of opening up trails between holes, ground is very rooty and stubby, not absolutely ideal for carts and strollers but doable.
- Generally flat, but as per point above, not ideal for people with mobility issues or who unsteady on their feet. Not a lot of elevation variation in general.
- A little bit repetitive in terms of hole shapes with the long turning fairways with tree patches in the middle.
- Some nasty places to lose discs, and with the distance of the course, you'll likely spend some time looking in the forest.

Other Thoughts:

- $10 per person day pass, check out the website, submit a form and e-transfer
- For how long the course is, not too many times I felt like I could just rip a drive off the tee wide open, there's very often a fairway turn or tree obstacles in the fairyway you need to account for.
- No real easy ace runs, #13 is probably the easiest as a wide open shot.
- Don't park on the main road, park across the road.
- Not sure what the plans are with the big building across the street, maybe some future development there?
- Saw a few different groups working on the course, looking forward to watch this course evolve and improve over time, a great addition to the PEI scene!
