Glenross , So Fast You Could leave Your Car Running 2+ years drive by

Pros:
Glenross Community Center is a park sits in what looks like a fairly new subdivision . The park features sand volleyball , a nice kids playground , large shelter , a basketball court that could hold 3 2 on 2 games simultaneously , and a community pool next door . A newly installed ( 2019 ) 9 hole disc golf course is also on the grounds . There is a small parking lot in front of the park . I am not sure of the street parking situation . I didn't see any bathrooms at the park . It's okay . Your round will be so fast , you won't need to go .
-- THE EQUIPMENT -- There are cement tee pads , about 3' X 7' . All are not flush with the ground , so be careful stepping off . There is no signage here , but the course is small and all of the tees but #5 are pointed at the baskets . The baskets are Machs and numbered at the top .
-- THE LANDSCAPE -- The Glenross grounds were mowed and landscaped well when I was here . I gather that this place receives constant attention . The course uses what rolling areas that they have to try to make the holes interesting . The #2 basket sits on what looks like a man made mound ( sled riding in the winter ? ) , Some tees are higher up and throw down across small gulleys like #4 , and over part of the lake like #5 . All of the trees and bushes here are smallish , so this area has to grow into itself .
-- HIGHLIGHTS -- No holes here to make you go WOW , but some fun and interesting ones . #4 is a slight right to left off the tee , the green being on the other side of a small gulley . #6 ( 258' ) has a bush line to your immediate right almost all the way to the basket . #9 , the last hole already has a lot of trees and bushes planted in the fairway .
-- BEST HOLE -- #5 by far . only 276' you might have to negotiate a wind and throw to sort of an inlet to the basket . The tee pad is pointed away from the basket and the lake , likely so the youngsters don't lose their only disc .
-- DISC RISK -- LOW . If you avoid throwing into a headwind or a left to right gust that takes your disc " out to sea " on #5 , then your disc risk should be almost zero .
-- THE TIME -- It took me 18 minutes to play all 9 holes .That's even counting me making notes and having to step off the #5 pad and walk down the course to see which basket I was shooting at . a foursome will be through 9 in about 30 minutes .
Junior is likely to get his first ace ever on hole #1( 76' )
The park is beautiful , your round will be fast and you might have this course all to yourself . If the shelter is not in use , you might use it after you finish to eat lunch or socialize .

CHALLENGE - You will beat yourself up if you fail to shoot way under par here . I shot a 19 only because the wind blew my drive away on #6 , forcing me to take a 3 . #1 is a 76' putter run with zero obstruction . On a non windy day , your chances of ace runs are high .
-- LACK OF EQUIPMENT -- I would like to see a small kiosk at the front to avoid a couple of confusing spots , or some signage that the holes . Even though the course is so short , I think that cement tees should still be longer , wider and more flush so the newbies and kids can learn to use pads to their advantage instead of a handicap .
-- WIND AND SUN-- Some consider this a pro , but I don't if it can cause a lost disc , like on #5 . Also , all of the holes are out in the open . You won't be out there too long , but if you were slow and with a large group , the sun could beat on you .
-- ONLY 9 -- he park has a big lake , to which the disc golf course in on a small part of the park , the side of the rest of the activities . Maybe they want to avoid disc around anyone who wants to fish . IMO, more holes could be added .

Other Thoughts:
I don't think that I would change much to the Glenross course . It's a great way to introduce the area to outsiders and say Hi . It is also a great way to acquaint the neighborhood and city to disc golf Don't let my rating scare anyone off ..The fun factor here is kind of high for a small course . The park and grounds are clean , the area is gorgeous . I even saw a train go by during my round ( train tracks are beyond the lake ).
MY RECOMMENDATION -- A great intro course for the newbies and kids , this is also a fantastic after dinner or cookout round for the whole family . Locals can get in some approach and putt practice . Intermediates on up might not like to drive here only to practice short parts of their game , and may go to The Players Course down the road . A great leg stretcher for the traveler , especially if spouse and kids are in the car and want to use the playground . It's just off of Rt 23 and close enough to I-71 . This is also beneficial to Course Baggers . you can still add Kinslow and The Players , which sit close by . Definitely not a course to go out of your way for , but still a nice easy round and a great view . UP TO YOU

Glenross: Great Introductory Course With a Huge Water Carry! 2+ years

Pros:
Glenross is a developing golf community, and it would honestly be somewhere I'd love to live. While this massive neighborhood is mainly focused around ball golf, there is a disc golf course here as well.
+The course is located in a nice neighboorhood Park with a playground, beach volleyball, walking paths, a pavilion, swimming pool, basketball courts, and disc golf (that was a lot of typing). Great place to spend a day with the kids, or just to practice your putting.
+ Concrete tees on every hole, and nice DGA baskets. Navigation is very straightforward.
+ This is a great place to introduce someone to he sport. You start off with a 75' pitch shot to warm you up. Holes will begin to introduce scattered trees, elevation, and even a water carry from that point.
+ #5 is designed absolutely perfectly. For beginners, there's a wide fairway to the left of the lake to avoid a long water carry. For big arms, you can unleash a 280' drive to a peninsula green.
+ Easy to get to, it's open to the public and the first tee is right next to the parking lot.

- Most holes are under 225', so there isn't much difficulty here. #1 is only 75' or so.
- The baskets are numbered, but the tees aren't. There aren't any tee signs unfortunately.
- I think there is a lot more potential to create a longer, more challenging course.

Other Thoughts:
Glenross is open to the public if you want to get some putting practice in, or introduce the sport to someone. Bravo to the designers for creating a beginners course that kept my interest!
