Not epic, just a pleasant little course. 2+ years drive by

Pros:

THIS COURSE IS NO MORE: please check out the Grove Creek Run course that has replaced it!!!!
-First 8 holes flow beautifully.
-Tone poles sound awesome.
-What the first 8 holes lack in distance, they make up for in shot shaping.
-Multiple lines for each hole.
-Designed to accommodate beginning to intermediate players.
-Mature trees with no under brush.

Cons:

-Out of bounds creek on #9 is next to impossible to get discs out of.
-Out of bounds over fence into fairgrounds on #3 & #4 is a lengthy, difficult retrieve.
-Course is short.
-Hole #9 is on the other side of the bathrooms and feels like an afterthought, in reality it is a lead-in to a designed back nine.
-Picking up your disc from the hollow stump on #5 may bother arachnophobes.
-Signage is minimalistic.

Other Thoughts:

As part of the design team, this review may be biased. The course was designed to be fun and as a demonstration for Union City of the need for a disc golf course. The course has served its purpose (successfully) and will likely go away at the end of 2014. If you have a desire to play this course, get out and do so soon - the tone poles alone are worth throwing at!
