Pros:
- Solid variety of both open and wooded holes
- Course is very well laid out
- Well taken care of
Overall, this is an outstanding course and well worth a visit if you find yourself in the area. It was very recently redesigned, with a number of holes altered and lengthened. All holes have very well laid concrete teepads, and the baskets are very new Discraft Chainstars which catch very well. While the signage is currently lacking, it is in the process of being ordered, and looks very nice. As such, I'm including it here.
Cons:
- Could use some additional shot selection, specifically holes that force a left to right shot
- Some holes play near walking paths which can cause delays due to other patrons
As the course is very well laid out, there's not a lot to complain about. However, it could use holes that force right handers to play from left to right. There are opportunities to do so, however there are very few times where it's really forced on the player. That added dimension/difficulty would be very welcomed. Additionally, and even playing on a Saturday morning/afternoon, there are several holes that play over/near walking paths, so you definitely need to be mindful of other park-goers.
Other Thoughts:
On the whole, the redesign makes this course very enjoyable, and even without what I would call a very minor complaint, that is the lack of forced left to right holes, there's very little to complain about here. The GMDGC has done a phenomenal job getting the city involved and invested in the course, and that partnership clearly shows in the finished product.
