- Granger DGC is located to the left of the large Granger Church property as you enter. Park in the lot near the bird sanctuary's benches and feeders. Tee #1 is located just past the sanctuary, slightly toward the Church building. The course plays along the edges and through the middle of a park style open area. Mostly grassy with scattered trees, although the edges of the property do contain more heavily wooded spots (e.g., behind the pins for hole #'s 3 and 7). A small seam of elevation runs through the middle area (hole #'s 2 and 9).
- A decent mix of length. Short holes around 100' (hole #3) are balanced with longer 400'+ holes (hole #8) and everything in between.
- Good use of trees to provide some obstacles without becoming too punishing for newer players. Likewise, water is there to punish only the worst shots on #'s 8 and 9. Available hazards could've been used to make the course more difficult but this was definitely geared towards beginners so I can respect the decision not to, say, include a hole throwing over the lake.
- Enough open spots to keep the difficultly level pretty light and easy, without resorting to cliched 9-er hole design. Each hole felt pretty decent here; the exception being hole #'s 7 and to a lesser degree 6, which are pretty much entirely open.
- Signage is sufficient, although #9 was missing it's sign. Worn natural tees with brick markers to denote front of the pad.
- Apparently you can borrow discs from the Church...I didn't look into this, but might be nice for disc-curious families.
- The gardening and landscaping give this course almost a ball golf look and feel.

- Holey moley are the next tees and baskets close together! Like, "blast #4's tee sign while putting on #3" type close. This is an issue on several holes: #'s 4/5 and 6/7 have tees directly in the killzone of the previous hole's basket.
- Holey moley why on earth are they throwing over a roadway?! Hole #'s 3 and 5 commit this deadly sin.
- A couple of the tee signs are kind of in the way of a proper follow through. At least enough to make me a bit nervous.
- The fairways for hole #'s 7 and 8, and #'s 2 and 9 almost certainly interfere with the safe flow of discers when more than one group is on the course.

- Completely secluded and empty during my time there, I didn't see a soul over the course of several rounds, with the exception of passing cars. The course is fine for a beginner 9er. The safety issues are moderately bad, but I've definitely seen worse, and the level of golf here is slightly better than many beginner 9ers offer.

- Course placed in what would normally feel like a multi-use park but this is on a HUGE church property. Mowed grass and very nicely landscaped.
- The tee signs are helpful and the distances appear to be correct.
- 9 is certainly the signature hole here where the pond just barely comes into play.
- Baskets are a mix of Dynamic and Mach 5's. All in decent shape.

....and that's about it

- Two of the holes have you throwing over the next tee. There just isn't any other way to get to the basket. So 3 to 4 is one and the other is #6. A RHBH throw in both situations is going to go right over the next tee.
- Dirt tees. Yuck.
- The tee sign for 9 is missing but it's pretty easy to figure out where the "tee" is. According to the GPS app on my iPhone it says the length of that hole is 381 and that sounds reasonable.
- Several of the tees are really close to the previous basket and with all the room out here I just don't understand the need to do this.
- 3 and 5 have you throwing over the entry drive. Like the item above - with all the room out here to work with I just don't understand the need to do this. Maybe I'm just anal but this is just an unneeded safety hazard.
- The signage needs to be worked on. Not a big deal but there are two number three holes here.

As others have stated there certainly is a lot of potential here. There are plots of land that simply do not lend themselves to disc golf but give this course some tweaks and the terrain is very well suited for disc golf. Kind of seems to me that this is a course designed by someone who knows a little bit about disc golf but just doesn't know what they don't know. Overall it's a fairly easy course but it does have some interesting lines.

I know my rating seems a bit harsh but with the obvious safety issues I just can bring myself to rate it any higher. With some minor adjustments and the addition of some tee pads this could be a cool little 9-holer.

• Lush green grass and nice, well-maintained property
• The berm, pond, open field, and wooded areas create variety in the design
• DD baskets are in great shape
• The church owns a good bit of land to the east of the course so there is potential here for expansion or a redesign.

• The course feels a bit cramped and holes 1-7 are too short to be a challenge for experienced players. Fairways are generally open with just a few trees or low branches to avoid near the end of the flight. The exceptions are holes 3-5 which are moderately wooded, but if you can avoid the trees, it should be a birdie.
• The grass is very dense and the tee pads are natural. My shoes grab the grass and cause lots of torque on my knees. I'm never comfortable teeing off and have to take a lot of power off each throw.
• Other than a handful of ace runs there aren't many exciting or overly challenging holes for experienced players
• The baskets are very nice but they aren't uniform. The original four are DGA and others are DD Patriot targets.

The grass is not cut for disc golf - but it could be! Several baskets sit in foot-tall grass that should be used as a rough not putting greens. A little bit of time spent cutting some fairways and adding trees could make this course much more interesting and playable. With the addition of some sort of tee pads this course would likely get used. In its current state, however, I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to play here. If you are short on time go play the short and sweet Steady Ed designed Madeline Bertrand which will only take about an hour to play all 18.
The first four baskets and signs appeared in 2014. In 2018 the final five basket were installed. In 2019 the course was finished off with nicer tee signs. It's quite clear GCC is in no rush to work on this course and it may never change from its current state, but who knows!?

The Granger Commons DGC is set next to the Granger Community Mega-Church. That church is huge and looks like a giant resort or something. To access the course park in the lower parking lot and walk in on the walking path. You'll pass the 1st basket so keep going until you see the tee sign just off the path on the right ahead. The tee signs are nice colored ones with the hole #, distance, par and a map. The baskets are DGA models. There are no tee sign but there are worn spots in the grass showing that this course has been getting some play. The worn spots do have a patio brick that serves as a kick board. The holes are all in the 280' to 295' range. # 1 is interesting at 272' but the most direct line will have you threading the needle between the trees. # 2 is straight and open at 292'. Walk towards the wooded section to find the #3 tee. It is a 220' throw to the basket which is set directly behind a very thick and bushy Pine tree. 4 throws across the road 235' to a basket in the trees.

Currently, there are only four holes.

All four holes are roughly the same length and fairly similar throws.

Currently, there no are real tee pads.

The course description says there are plans to expand this course. I don't believe funding will an issue. The Granger Community Church appears to have more money than.............uh, most churches. They're off to a nice start here and I hope they continue to expand the course. Although, right now with only four holes, it makes a wonderful, easy course for us course baggers to get.

The course is pretty cool overall they for sure have enough room to possibly make this a 9-18 hole course, although it is kinda hard to find the first tee off if you follow the road going west of the church, once you have gone down a short ways youll come to a parking lot where a sidewalk will cross the road and go into the woods (Follow this sidewalk), once you have followed passed the "Bird Sanctuary" you will see a large sign pertaining to "Disc Golf Rules", 50Ft passed that going towards the church on the tree line your first tee off will be (Look for a wooden post with a sign posted to it). All in all a good course can be much better i do suggest what the other reviewer has posted and once finished with your 4th hole play as if that basket is a tee off and throw to the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st to get an extra 3 holes out of the course making it a total of 7 Holes.

This is a course that currently has 4 established holes with room to expand up to 9. As a 4 or a 9 hole course it is a great beginner level course that would not be very challenging for intermediate or advanced level players. It would be an ace run for most disc golfers.

Tees - 1 natural tee per hole. Tee marked with a silver stone in the ground at the front of the tee as well as the sign.

Signs - Each sign has a picture of the hole, distance, par, and hole number.

Variety - while all of the distances are relatively the same, each hole is different. 1 and 2 are mostly open but have trees that alter the line. Hole 3 is a blind shot behind a pine tree with a narrow fairway closer to basket. Hole 4 is guarded by multiple mature trees where you will need to thread the needle.

** Backwards basket to basket: From 4 to 3, multiple trees creating a thread the needle shot. Will make or break the hole. 3 to 2- mostly open with a few trees guarding the fairway. 2 to 1- open shot to basket. Somewhat of a blind shot.

Baskets - brand new baskets that catch great. They are shiny and deep. To be honest, not sure what kind of baskets they are but they were great.

Clean peaceful course on the grounds of a church. Walking path on site. Well maintained.

Room to expand.

Until this course is expanded, from the basket of hole 4, turn around. Play basket to basket to get back to parking lot for a total of 7 holes. Changes things up a bit. There is definitely room to expand but looks like 9 holes is the max.

Only 4 holes at the moment. Course description said more holes will be added. When they are I will come back and update my review.

Tee for hole 1 was a little journey from the parking lot. Park near the church and this won't be an issue.

Right now, course ends on opposite side of campus than the parking lot. To fix this, play backwards from here going basket to basket.

Only 1 tee per hole. All short courses should have alternate tees to make the course more playable. 18 playable tees > 9 playable tees. Would not cost much extra since they are natural tees.

I see myself as an intermediate level player and I enjoyed this course. This course has potential to be a great beginner level course that intermediate players will enjoy. There is the possibility of a water hazard and even a hill near the church to have once expanded.

Right now with this only being 4 (7 if play backwards from hole 4) playable holes, this is a 1.5. It's a course. When expanded to 9, this course has the variety, signs, nice baskets, and the cleanliness to be a 2 or 2.5 out of 5.

As this course expands, I will continue to update my review.
