Pros:
I played this course in May of 2020 on a quick detour off the highway to stretch my legs. My experience here was somewhat overshadowed by the amazing amount of mosquitoes that I had to try and play through. I eventually left the course running for my life. But what I did get to play, I think was a good course.....
It's a bit of a walk behind some ball fields to get to the first tee. But I found the tee pretty easily for hole 1 after a few minute walk. The course played through some freshly cleared forest. Lots of pine from what I recall. Some nice holes that had some good shot shapes. Went along the edge of a small creek. Kind of an ominous looking creek. It was at this point the course became swampy and buggy. I feel like there were some good holes mixed in from what I saw. But the course was heavily flooded around some pins and the mosquitoes would have made Maple Hill miserable. I hope to have another chance at it someday as I feel like it could have been a decent course.
Cons:
wetness, bugs, walk to the first tee. Bugs and wetness may be a seasonal thing?? I don't know??? I'd ask the locals about conditions before hitting it up if travelling through. I know at one point I was supposed to be on 7 or 8 and found myself on 12 or 13. There were definitely some confusing spots. I think that was a big part of my aggravation with the bugs following me trying to find holes. Then throwing holes and the pin being surrounded by a pool of water.
Other Thoughts:
I didn't hate this course. I definitely didn't love it. I had just played a few days at the IDGC and was on the way to Florida and stopped here. I was hoping for better after what was a 4.0 course on that other site at the time I played it. I see it's a 3.6 there now. For me, it's not quite a 3, but had the conditions been better, I may have enjoyed it a lot more. My review on uD says "most dissatisfying round of disc golf in 25 years" lol.
