Could Be Good

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 3, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Very cool campground that seems like a fun place to be during the summer.

- Course is in it's own secluded (sorta) area of the campgrounds. Although, some kids were riding golf carts on the 4 wheeler trails that snake throughout the first part of the course.

- Baskets were Mach 3's which caught pretty decently.

- Initially when this course was added, it appeared to say that it was $5 to play but when I walked into the office to hand over my money, they told me to go to the building across the way and just show my ID to check in. And even then, the girl at the desk told me the ID check wasn't really even required (lol) and asked me if I knew how to find the course.

Cons:

- Course is not easy to find. From the office, you have to drive to the north end of the camping area then drive east till you see this small gravel "road" that leads to hole 1's teepad.

- Signs were not the most helpful but I guess with most of the holes being pretty short, it didn't really matter.

- Teepads are pretty bad. They are too small, not flush to the ground and that gravel is already starting to get uneven.

- Hole design is pretty wonky on a majority of the holes. Hole 5 I believe was the one where it was a blind uphill shot where you're throwing up a trail with a "fairway" that is only about 5 feet wide with extremely bad rough on both sides. Hole 9 I didn't even bother throwing because of having no spotter and how bad the rough was and the fact the fairway had grass almost up to my knees. It sucks too because hole 9 was the funnest looking one and the longest hole of the course.

Other Thoughts:

I don't really know what I was expecting for this course based on what I read on uDisc which isn't exactly an accurate place for information on how good a course actually is.

Well, it turns out this one isn't very good and honestly, I don't really know what else they could do to fix this one aside from the usual upgrade signs/teepads. And even then it'd only bump this one up to a 2.5 at best. Unless they start to take care of the rough and actually maintain fairways, this course will just fall into disrepair. It's a good thing it was free to play because I definitely would've had a case of buyer's regret afterwards.

Side note, a huge storm came in right when I got to hole 9. A huge bolt of lightning and boom of thunder clapped extremely close to where I was so after noting that hole 9 was a complete waste of plastic to attempt to throw, I proceeded to power walk/run back to my car lol.
