Way too much walking. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 2, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Nice baskets that are powder coated orange which is the school's color.

Tee signs with distance.

Lots of parking most weekends.

Very little chance of losing a disc.

Good for beginners to learn the game.

Easy to get to.

Cons:

The number one problem with this course is the amount of walking it takes to play a round. The course is 2435 feet long and there is probably ~4000+ feet of walking to get from hole to hole. When I played there was another group and they drove their car between hole 4 and 5 and again to to get from hole 6 to hole 7. After making the walk I was wishing I would have drove too.

None of the hole are anything special. Mostly just straight shots.

Other Thoughts:

It was just too much walking to play a bunch of short, boring holes. For me this course could be easily improved by removing holes 7,8 and 9 and putting them in the front of the school with the first six holes. Maybe even make it an 8 hole course with a practice basket.

If you plan to play this course take a minute and print out a map since the layout can be a little confusing.

For a rating I am giving this course a 1.0. I did not enjoy the two rounds I played here. There is just so much walking to play 9 mediocre holes. My recommendation would be to skip this course unless you are a course bagger(if you do play park between holes 1 and 6 then drive back to hole 7.) If you are in the area looking for a quick round I would recommend Porter Park ~3 miles away.

Harlem High School 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 16, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

It's a small course set up on high school property, using non-use areas, so as far as high schools go it's pretty cool that it's there for local kids to play on and a great place to go to practice.
The holes are fairly short, basically a front six (that can be played backwards) and three holes on the back of school that make a great practice field (see map) for practicing drives using soccer field. The good news is with all the cement and asphalt you can throw from about any location you think is challenging and safe.

Cons:

It's a small course set up on a high school property, so how can you expect it to be something else?
Due to being able to use only "non use" areas with safety being top priority it's not going to flow very well and it going to be short, basically a 6 hole with 3 extra baskets in back.
During the school year it gets pretty crowded after school and is off limits during school hours, It's best for weekend and evenings.
