Peace and Harmony

Pros:

Get to play Disc Golf riding in a golf cart!! (Which really helps on this very hilly golf course).

Course is very long! For 9 holes it averages at 496 feet!! Hole # 2 is over 900 feet, which was basically using the middle section of hole # 1 on the ball golf course. with the basket under a group of trees to the right side of the fairway.

Hole # 8 was my favorite hole. It was downhill bomb that the player had to navigate their drive through an initial tight area. If one shanked their drive to the right, I would probably say your goodbyes to the disc as it's pretty thick to the right and the hole plays toward the right side of the last hole leading up the clubhouse.

Could possibly play in your bare feet if one is allowed.

Immaculate care taken on this beautiful parcel of land.

There is a scorecard w/ map available. It's very useful. But there's also generic tee signs at each tee w/ feet and meters.

Cons:

Sharing the fairways with ball golfers that are hackers, lol. I followed all the High School golfers that we're playing Match play the day I was there and a couple of them topped the drives less than 25yards. I used to play ball golf and I caddied at a country club when I was a teenager. I told the hackers to keep it simple. Don't kill it and stay in the fairways, which is advice that applies in Disc Golf.

Grass tees

Ball golfers get the right of way unless they letcha play through.

Other Thoughts:

Harmony Ridge Golf Club is nestled on the Ridges of Harmony Township overlooking the Ohio River Valley. Established in 1923 as the Ambridge Country Club, this historic golf course was designed and built by Emil Loeffler along with H.C. and W.C Fownes. Over the years the course was commonly referred to as Oakmont's Little Brother. Now add the Disc Golf course with the ability to use a cart and a beverage of choice (I chose to abstain as I was going to the Cardinal vs. Pirates game afterwards) for a low price of $5/ round and $5 /cart. I'll be back to play this beautiful Disc Golf course everytime I visit Pittsburgh!!

After golf amenities include the Outdoor Tiki Bar & BBQ Restaurant featuring the Swhinery's Award Winning Barbeque. I had a cheering section going on while I was practice putting. I was putting on a show for them, I think I missed 5 putts out of 20 minutes waiting for the High School golf team to reach the middle of hole # 1's fairway.

If you ever play Disc Golf that shares the course with ball golfers. The greens are O.B.!! please refrain from walking on them, because we're Disc Golfers and we're respectful of others and the property that we play on. Sand traps are OB too, and if you go into one, just rake the sand nice and neatly for others, please.

There are showers and lockers, which could come in handy as it did for me as I changed my clothes and cleaned up a little bit before going downtown.

I was told that Thursdays we're their slow days for ball golfers. Weekends I'm guessing would be really hard to play this course.

I hope they expand to 18 holes of Disc Golf, if they don't this course with a little tweaking would be as good as any Disc Golf course one would want to play on.
