Great for Beginners, Boring for Pros 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 30, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Lots of open space, hard to lose discs.
- Generally quiet park, bit of pedestrian traffic, but not much.
- Decent baskets (though some are a little tilted).

Cons:

- Not much signage left, no clear tee pads.
- Definitely need to have a map with you to play the course.
- No elevation changes, pretty straightforward layout.
- Can be pretty soppy in the spring.

Other Thoughts:

This is my home course, so I'm probably a little biased, but it's an enjoyable, open course that offers up enough space to experiment with drives. That said, you can throw into houses along holes 4 & 5 if you fire way right.

This course is hardly used, but if you're ever visiting and want to play with a local check out the Mountain View Disc Golf group on Facebook and someone will likely want to meet up with you to play. A slightly more challenging Back 9 has been developed that plays well with some interesting tee locations.

A pro will not find much value in this course, but an amateur/casual player should enjoy it as its length compared to the other easy Alberta courses (Three Sisters, Forest Lawn, Red Deer Victoria Park) makes it more challenging. There aren't really any "This should probably be a Par 2" holes like there are on some of the other courses.
