9 hole course, located next to Hillcrest Elementary School, on the edge of Kenosha, WI.

Nice DGA baskets. One pin position per hole. Well mounted, caught fine.

Holes 3-5 have some interest, I guess. Hole 3's tee shot is interesting, through some heavy branches on a weird tree.

I guess there's a little bit of distance variation, and a bunch of ace run type holes. Very beginner friendly.

Decent tee signs. Basic, but effective. Navigation is somewhat simple, once you figure out where hole 3 is.

Open. It's mostly baskets in a field. Not much else to say here.

Natural tee pads. One per hole. Not overly worn out, as I assume this place doesn't get much action.

Wind is probably your main foe here.

There's just not much to talk about. It's mostly baskets, wide open in a field. Decent place for safari, I suppose.

Unless you're next door, or a course bagger, there's really no reason to go here.

Set in an extremely large, mostly open field to the east of Hillcrest middle school. Theres a practice basket at the begining which is nice to see. I don't remember what the baskets were, probably DGAs or machs, but they were in great shape and caught well. Standard DGA signs with real basic info on them. These are more than adequate for this course. Also 2 bricks imbedded into the ground marking the tee box with arrow to basket and hole # painted on them. Natural grass tee pads on all holes are fine for this course. Very few trees on the more open holes, just wind to deal with. This would be a nice place to just come and work on different shots and techniques. They do however use the few scarcely wooded areas on the property extremely well. Out of the nine holes they factor the wooded section into 4 of them to different degrees. Hole number 3 is a pretty unique drive from the tee as you have to throw through a tree literally right in front of the tee. I've only seen one other drive off the tee like this and it was at Lake Wazee. This one is a way more fair line however. Seems to be pretty well mowed and maintained as well.

The majority of the holes are pretty bland. It is a middle school course so you shouldn't expect much anyway, but just not real exciting. As mentioned in other reviews The signs on a few holes were too close to the front of the tee. Probably not playable during school hours either. No trash cans, restrooms or benches either. But realistically you don't need any of these 3 here, its a middle school course.

Not too many redeeming qualities here. Its only a few minutes from UW Parkside though. This actually would serve as a great tune up before playing those two much more challenging courses. Thats what we did, played here and then headed over to the orchid. That made for a few fun hours of discin.

1) Adequate distance variation for a short school course. If this was a regular course geared towards people other than school kids, I would say it needs more variation.
2) DGA Signs with Hole Distance, Par, and a Map. Not the most attractive signs but informative.
3) Very safe course with tees far away from baskets and vice versa.
4) Practice basket is available near the first tee which is a bonus.
5) While there is very little interest on this property, the designer used what natural underbrush was available to make 3 holes fairly challenging.
6) Rules sign is available near the first tee.
7) Arrows painted on bricks near the baskets direct you to the next tee.
8) Beginner friendly for sure.

1) Signs seem to be installed too close to the tee not allowing a stance on the entire tee without fear of hitting your hand on the sign.
2) #3 teesign is missing already. It must be the kids who have a fort in the tree.
3) The walk from 2 to 3 is long and strange because there is only an arrow pointing you in a direction.
4) 6 of the holes have only wind and some minor rolling elevation to contend with. Not enough interest to make me want to come back here.
5) Grass tees always leave a little to be desired, but are in decent shape.

It is what it is. This is a school course introducing a lot of kids to this game. I am so happy to see them dedicate this entire field to the sport of disc golf, because I love the sport and want to see it grow. The designer did what he could on this property even though there isn't much diversity or fun factor on the property. It is well designed for the intended target.

The master plan has a lot of trees slated to be installed . . . which could make this course really fun and challenging. Stay Tuned.
