I had to chance to play Hillcrest Farms on Prince Edward Island last year, but didn't even know of the existence of Huck It at the time. This year I made sure to play them both, which resulted in 36 holes of outstanding disc golf.

This course offers an outstanding variety of hole lengths, shapes, and elevations, with a small river running through many of the holes. The hole lengths range from 212' out to 544' so while there isn't really a long par 5 on the course, there is plenty of variation.

More than hole lengths, the shapes and elevations of the holes stand out for me. Each hole offered something different with tunnels, gentle bends, and doglegs in both directions. On top of fairway shape there was significant uphill and downhill on many holes, with several playing across the small river for a downhill/uphill hole.

There are plenty of left-to-right holes that favor a RHFH or a RHBH turnover, with accuracy being more important than distance. Staying in the fairway is the only way to be assured of a reasonable line to the basket.

Hole 2 is a great example of the overall course. A 501 foot par 5 that requires an accurate 250' throw to the landing zone, and then another to the pin. Having 500 feet of power gives you zero advantage on this hole, as you can't access the basket from the tee.

Hole 14 is the signature hole on the course. A 544' par 4 that starts straight and level, then doglegs left and downhill toward the river. It crosses the river and the basket is on a huge raised platform of logs. A complex and challenging hole.

Excellent concrete tee pads for each hole, along with an informative sign with a clear hole diagram. White Veteran baskets catch great and show up well. Bench and both trash and recycling containers completed the excellent course structure.

The only map provided is on a business card. While it gives a general idea of course flow it is not really up to the standard that I would expect for a pay-to-play course.

There seemed to be only a single set of tees for most of the course. Hole 2 had a shorter red tee that eliminated the dogleg, but that is the only hole that I recall seeing a second tee on. I may have overlooked a couple, but most of the other holes showed the red/blue position being the same.

Hole 7 was my least favorite as it uses a wheat field to define the left edge of the fairway. Fading into the waist-high field made for difficult disc finding.

It is too bad that most folks will never be able to play this course. Just getting to PEI is a long drive from just about anywhere, and the crossing is either a $47 toll bridge or an even more expensive ferry.

That being said, it is a beautiful place to play disc golf, and with two, premium 18 hole course within 30 minutes of each other it is well worth the trip.

Cement tee pads on every hole. Large cut out fairways, even in the treed holes there is always lots of room, especially for newer golfers won't get frustrated by fairways that are too narrow or trees in the middle of fairways. Good signage.

What a fantastic piece of land, with a small river snaking its way along the fairways. Course is built on the edge of the river with a considerable drop from top of the valley to river floor. In some areas the fairway drops 30-40' from tee to riverbank. Very cool raised platform for basket made from the timber cut on the course.

Relatively easy course to navigate/throw as the fairways are generous. Its really just a par 3 course, although there are some 450+ foot fairways, there are none that are unreasonable to complete in 3 strokes.

Basket locations should be reconsidered. In a lot of cases the placement looks good but are all relatively easy to approach. Although the course is measured at 6400' it plays shorter.

This course has a lot of potential but the designer kept the general layout simple and hole design shows. Word is they are not done with its design. Still a fun course and worth visiting while on Prince Edward Island.

-Well designed course, with good signage and tees.
-A few really unique holes that are unlike what I have played elsewhere.
-Beautiful location.
-Challenging holes for experienced players.

-Potential for lost discs on blind shots.
-Parts of the course were recently cleared, and potential for continual refinement in the years to come.

If you get off the fairways and into the rough, you are going to add a lot of strokes to your game.
Bring bug spray.

This is a long challenging course through the woods with a couple of holes that allow you to really air it out. The fairways throughout are clear and fair, even when tight. Tee pads and tee signs make the course easy to play on and navigate.

The course has all the pieces needed to experience a diverse challenge in a beautiful setting:
A balanced diversity of left hand back hand, right hand back hand, and straight holes
A diversity of elevated (downhill and uphill) and flat holes
Tightly and moderately wooded holes (long and short)
A couple of long open holes that let you air out your drives
A number of holes have a water hazard creek running though them (complete with retrieval nets and even a crocodile on one hole)
The basket on one hole is situated on a very cool wooden pyramid (this is not one of the gimmicky elevated baskets but an interesting feature that adds value to the hole)

Stone stairs and solid wooden bridges add utility and beauty to the course

None that I can think of. I was there for Canadian Nationals and the course was looking fantastic. It seems like a labour of love from the owner/designer with a lot of careful design and TLC put into each hole. Fine tuning continues on some of the holes (completion of stairs, for example) suggesting the course will only get better with age.

This course stands on its own and is worth a visit if you're headed to PEI.

Good use of elevation, good signage, easy to navigate, fun course to play, several signature holes, multiple choices of lines to hit.

Signage only in meters, would be nice to also have feet, seemed out of balance as it is very left handed/flick friendly, the ground of the fairways was pretty tough with big sticks and no grass yet, one hole shares a tee pad, limited water and bathrooms

It's a brand new course and hasn't been beaten in yet. For just being thrown in the ground recently, I expect that it will continue to be improved with grass in the fairways and maybe some hole adjustments here and there.

- still pretty new with lots of work being done to it, but leaves it a little rough around the edges.

This is really an excellent course, playing mostly through heavily wooded, but wide fairways which have been nicely carved out of the PEI woods. It plays almost like a sister course to Hillcrest which is down the road in Bonshaw, in that the terrain is similar, but with more elevation changes (if that reference helps - Hillcrest is considered one of the best courses in Eastern Canada). Scoring well here will be tricky, but earned. There are a lot of steeper uphill walks through fairways and between holes. The river comes into play a couple of times, but generally it's an easy hazard to avoid (the water was low when I played at the end of August).
You definitely need good footwear, bug dope and lots of hydration for this one, as it's no Sunday walk in the park par 3. While the fairways are fair, errant shots can be difficult to find in the rough (so just play well, duh). The course definitely challenges your RHFH or RHBH anny game off the tee. There are many memorable holes on the course, including the couple of par 5's (I think 14 is the standout for sure) and a few others that play over the water hazard, but also a couple of holes that play similarly to one another (two open field shots and all the flicks). On the whole, this course is in a beautiful spot and challenges you both physically and mentally. That's a win for me. Still new, but the owners are doing a lot of work to it and I highly suggest you check it out!
