- CHAINS - 8 of the 9 baskets were in great shape. Newer Mach 5s with the number placard on top. Unfortunately one basket was lying on the ground, basket (4).
- RECREATIONAL FRIENDLY - I found the course difficulty to be ideal for lower end rec level players. The fairways are mostly forgiving and its hard to lose a disc. The hole concepts are generally simple. It's either a moderate length openish shot or a shorter hole with a few trees in play. Probably ideal for high school students. Mostly beginner friendly, but an unathletic new player could definitely put one into some horrible overgrowth on the far fringes.
- TEE SIGNS - The tee signs are below average, but at least there something to mark the holes clearly and they also give the distance. Having an artistic description of the line wasn't really necessary on this course.

Sub-par on nearly every category when compared to the average course.
- LACK OF TECHNICAL CHALLENGE - Overall I found the difficulty to be a touch below average. There's some modest length on this one, especially for a high school course. Several holes were beyond my 325-foot max power. The technical aspect for this course on-the-other-hand, is lacking immensely. I think I counted five holes without a tree to game plan around. Only hole (2), IMO, required a little bit of thought in the line to throw. Perhaps this concept was intentional, but a lot of players I know would get bored out here.
- HOLE VARIETY - There are individual holes on the local Admiral course that have more variety than this entire course.
- MULTI USE HAZARDS - Perhaps 3 holes here don't have any multi-use conflicts. (1) and (2) are both well separated from other activities, but once I got to (3), It felt like I was playing in soccer practice fields. A stadium is in play along the left on (7) and a building is easily hittable on (8).
- NAVIGATION AND SIGNAGE - Sub-par. As noted in the pros, at least there's simple tee markers. The baskets are numbered too. No course map, no directional aids on site.
- TEES AND EXTRAS - Well below average. Tees are natural and without a defined tee line. I saw one bench by tee (4) and (6)... that's it for extra amenities.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - One of the least attractive courses I've played in the Mobile metropolitan area. A bland landscape to begin with, and add to the fact that there is gym equipment littered all over the grounds. There's a multi-truckload pile of sand in front of basket (7). Obviously seeing the remains of basket (4) in front of tee (5) was an uneasy site. I used the white paint I keep in my bag to outline the basket to aid in the investigation process.
- MAINTENANCE - The terrain left of basket (9) looked unmowable. Thus it was no surprise that there was waist high grass well inside the circle left of the green. It's probably always like this.
- LOCATION - A good ½ hour drive to downtown Mobile.

Passable sums up this course fairly well. Hurricane Alley DGC is missing a lot of the typical disc golf related elements and has a slew of minor issues. Only a couple holes were moderately satisfying to me. For those in the Mobile area, this course is not really worth venturing to, unless a player wants to throw every course in the metro area. Among the 22 Mobile area courses that I've played as of this review, I would slot this one at 17th. Among area school courses, I'd say this one is a hair better than Baker High School, but behind Stapleton on the other side of the bay.
- TIME PLAY - I estimated 20 minutes before arriving, but I spent over 35 minutes here. 10 of which was looking for my disc which was 30 feet from the basket on hole (9) buried deep in waist high grass.
