If You Come To a Fork in the River, Take It 2+ years drive by

Pros:
The Redwood Hwy has been slowly adding courses along its length, ranging from nice[Selmac} to meh[Vertical Horizons, although much potential there]. Illinois River Forks DGC raises the standard for the area.
After crossing the Illinois just west of Cave Junction, the first right takes you straight to the parking lot in half a minute. There's a new kiosk with maps right by tee #1.
Lying on a floodplain peninsula between the East and West forks of the Illinois, there's lots of open-field hucking on the longer holes, but scrub pine and red oak add a technical aspect early in the round and here and there throughout the course.. The ground cover is a mix of woody debris and grass under the trees, and sand/rock in the open stretches, with long, low ridges and humps of rock as a result of past flooding. Some of this rocky structure also seems manmade, as a gated overflow parking lot near #7 attests.
Underbrush is sparse, and unlikely to hide a disc, though hardwood leaves in fall might hide a drive. The river is too far away to come into play, though both of these factors may change with an additional 9 holes, already in the planning stage.
Without a doubt, the longest 9er I've ever played, with only 2 holes under 300', 2 over 450' and #4 at 640'! Beautiful new Discatchers, fresh cement pads and lovely signs, though the clockwise layout is easy enough to follow.
Trashcan by the kiosk, and water, bathrooms and picnic tables nearby.

#s 3-5 have a hiking trail between you and the river, though it would take a terrible throw to reach the trail. #9's basket is close to both the road and the park host.
Its a bit on the righty hyzer-friendly side.
On a hot summer day you will bake on the open holes, but the river is close by for a cooling dip.
Summer holidays are packed here, so some holes may be unplayable.

Other Thoughts:
If you're passing through and don't have 1 1/2 hours+ to play Lake Selmac, this is the stop for you. If you've got kids, there's hiking trails, a swimming spot, and a mile or so down Hwy 199, a nature center and the Big Cat World Park, with tours.
