Pros:
Beautiful panoramic mountain views surround the course.
The WOW shot is 21 which tees off from a cliff shot. If you're not careful you may hit power lines.

Cons:
The shrubs look all the same and if you don't keep an eye on your disc you will likely lose it.
I missed 24th since there's not an easy way to find the next tee.

Other Thoughts:
After playing two courses in Tahoe snow during a week's visit there this course was a sigh of relief. I would make the drive back to this place.

Pros:
The course plays through a sprawling open park with beautiful views of the valley and the mountains. This is a shot placement course, you won't have to shape specific lines, but you do have to work to hit your landing zones. The brush is tall and thick enough that if you're in the wrong spot you'll have awkward shots to recover. There are also a lot of opportunities for rollaways, so you have to take care what angles you land and how you approach the greens adding a fun challenge to the short game.
Elevation is one of the biggest challenges here. Many of the shots are up or down the couple hills on the property, keeping things surprisingly interesting for a course with no obstacles taller than me. There are a couple really fun miniature top of the world shots, and some tricky uphills too. There is a nice mix of hole lengths, with some reachable shots and some longer holes where you get to pull out a driver.

This course could use some work on signage. The tee signs don't have any kind of hole layout, just the distance. With multiple baskets in view off several tees that means you have to have the course map to know which one to shoot at. The baskets aren't numbered so you still don't know if you're in the right place when you make it to the pin.
Some of the transitions between holes are long and confusing. Hopefully that will improve with more traffic through the course, but some next tee signs would go a long way. The walk to the first tee is pretty long, and the walk back from 18 is even longer and cuts through part of the course. There are some areas down in the lower parts of the course playing through the wash that are very choked with brush. On the longer shots that makes it really tough to follow your disc and ends up leading to a lot of searching.

This course is definitely a contrast to the nearby Tahoe courses. If you like to air out a disc, this is a fun place to fight the wind and elevation without having any kind of technical tight lines to hit. Beginners will find it pretty long, and the brush can be pretty punitive on less accurate throws. Experienced players will be tested on a few specific skills here, but it doesn't exactly provide a well rounded complete disc golf challenge. I wouldn't make this course a priority when you're in the area, but if there's too much snow to play the mountain courses this is an ok alternative.

You played the course in its infancy. We were still waiting on county funding to finish it.Permanent tee signs with basket layout n distance have been completed. Posts for tee signs and 10 benches are going in this week. Since you cant see basket #'s without a scope from the tee we are going to install 4ft tall pvc poles with 12x18" flags on every basket. They will be color coordinated with the tee signs so blue tee sign throws to blue flag, yellow sign to yellow flag, etc…

You played when it was only 18 holes and designed for 27. Now all 27 are in so no more long,confusing walks. Basket to next tee signs were installed a few weeks ago. Ive played plenty of courses with longer walks to 1 and from 18 but the way the property sits not much could be done about it, plus the park GM wanted the 1st hole in the center of the park. The walk from 18 only passes thru #4 downhill fairway which happens to be the main walk way for joggers n dog walkers so really not a big deal.

There are multiple pins now so the course will have a nice balance of short medium long holes. Most but not all holes might be open from the tee but the baskets are tightly guarded. You miss on the wrong side, even as little as 10FT and you are putting over a 7ft bush or 50-70ft back uphill after going down a slope. Plus we have added a couple mandos and OB on a few holes. Trees will be planted over the next yr as well.
With all of the courses you've played and your playing experience I truly respect your opinion on course reviews. Hopefully you can make it back up here to play the course this summer and update your review. All tee pads should be in by mid May.

Pros:
Tee signs are unique and look great. Arrows in the basket pointing to the next tee. Great use of the land. Elevation changes make this a fun course to play. Location is good. If you have kids, plenty of places to play while you are discing. Parking is good and plenty of it. Not crowded (yet), give it time for word of mouth and that might change. Long holes and not too technicial of shots needed.
Cons:
Tee boxes need some work. I know this is a newer course and I am sure they will be touching them up as time goes by. No numbers on the baskets to know if you are throwing at the right one. There were a few times on the back 9 that it got a little confusing. You can stand in the tee box and see more than one basket. Not sure if you are throwing at the right one. I would suggest numbering the holes with flags or pictures on the tee signs to show where you are throwing. Again, I know this is a new course and it is a pretty small con to me. No waste baskets for trash.
Other Thoughts:
This was the first of 6 courses we played over the weekend. It was a nice course to start on. Get out there early, cause the wind and heat will certainly get worse as the seasons change. Bring lots of water and pack out any trash you have. Keep this course as nice as it is and people will certainly come back for more. I know that when I am in the area visiting friends, this will be a course that I will be hitting up for sure. Improvement will be coming, I am sure of it. Keep up the good work and enjoy playing.

Pros:
Fun course. I look forward to the second nine opening. The color printed maps at hole one were great and needed for a first play. Nice parking lot.
Cons:
Lots of sagebrush, watch your disc landings carefully and note a reference point, because when you're down in it, it all looks the same. A couple of holes have houses near the pin.

Lots of elevation changes keeps this desert course from being too easy.
Plenty of blind shots with tall sage brush blocking out views.

Only nine of the final 18 holes are complete. The signage and tee-pads still have work to be done, but that's to be expected for such a new course.
It's relatively short, with a couple of holes coming in under 200 feet, but overall it's a fun little course. In the wind it becomes a lot tougher (and it's almost always windy down there).
WATCH WHERE YOU THROW YOUR DISCS. In the four rounds I've played out there, I've found five lost discs. The sage brush eats them up.

Pros:
1st course in the Carson City area!
27 holes! A very nice course map that shows a 9 hole n 18 hole loop options for those who don't want to play the full 27. 9 hole loop is perfect for kids and casual players who do not want to walk up the hill. Bright orange posts directing you to the next tee on most of the holes making it very easy to navigate. Rubber tee pads have a very nice grip, no slips at all when wet. Very nice tee signs with washer above it showing which basket is currently in play. Warning signs on the tee sign posts for certain baskets such as "severe slope behind basket" or "fence behind basket is OB". The baskets and tee signs are color coordinated with a flag on top of each basket. Red sign throws to red flag,blue sign to blue flag, etc making it easy to kno which basket to throw to. The constant elevation changes of up down n sideways makes for quite a challenge. Some very fun mini "top of the world" shots with #22 as the signature hole. A good combination of hole distances ranging from 190-425ft par 3's and 2 par 4's of 500-650ft. Tight greens n slopes will test your putting. Great course for winter play when the Tahoe courses are under snow. The top portion of the course has spectacular views of the surrounding Sierra peaks and the Carson Valley

No trees. As of now no benches but they are coming soon.
From April thru October prevailing winds will just about make this course unplayable after 1pm so play early during this time of year. Sagebrush n no trees means no depth perception from the tee so finding your disc can be difficult on some holes. Vandalism has been an issue. Don't be surprised if a few baskets are missing their flags when you play, damn punks!

Other Thoughts:
This course is quite unique compared to other courses in the region. No trees means you can pick your line on most of the holes but its still all about placement. The baskets are all closely guarded by either tall bushes, a slope, or a severe slope. Some are guarded on the left, some the right,some the back,some the front, some 75% guarded. Place your shot accurately and you have an open look. Miss on the wrong side and you are putting back up the hill or need to turbo putt over a bush. Don't let the no trees fool you into thinking this course is easy. If you play the entire course its quite a climb and fatigue is a factor over the last several holes. Until you have played it enough the constant elevation changes make distance control tricky. OB comes into play on 3 holes. Severe slope close to the basket comes into play on 7 other holes. You will rarely have a level open look putt on any basket so it will test your putting skills.
