Fun challenging course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 28, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Very technical on many of the holes. Very fun course for those that have not played before (Have taught many to play here) while still very challenging for those who have played for a long time.
If you hate trees and technical playing, then you will get very frustrated here.

Cons:

Tends to get fairly overgrown in the summer. TONS of seed ticks and chiggers (Summer time) so be sure to bring/use bug spray.

Other Thoughts:

We play this course almost every week and love it. We expect the bugs and prepare for it but overall its a fun challenging course that can be played in about 40 min per 9.

Eagle Ridge (JBU) DGC 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 25, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Great little course. Plan on playing it more often! Not a tourney level and not a gimme either.

Nice mix of RHBH/RHFH, woods/open, open/obstacles etc. Good quality baskets.

Cons:

None of the tee pads are concrete. All of them are dirt and wood posts in the ground. I would appreciate a few more wooded holes but I think that will come with their planned addition of 9 more holes.

Other Thoughts:

Hole #1 is a mix of open/woods. Drive is open but you have to throw into a corridor of trees, slow dog-leg left.

Hole #2 is a tight right dog-leg, it's short but a technical one.

Hole #3 is partially wooded, dog-leg left. It plays a lot shorter than what it is if you can get a nice RHBH skip off the tee. Just make sure that you don't hug the jungle on the left side too much.

Hole #4 has a few tall and wide trees hugging the left side requiring an overstable RHBH, only 200 yards but the obstacle makes it a tad more difficult.

Hole #5 is a straight drive with some trees as slight obstacles off the tee pad. The basket is tucked into a small grove of trees making a slightly difficult up-shot, but once you get inside the grove, easy putts.

Hole #6 is around 320 yards. Heavy trees 6 or so feet to the left of the tee. The right side is wide open.

Hole #7 is 420+ feet and is listed as a par 4. Wide open fairway until about 320' where there are a few trees. The entire fairway is trimmed grass so the trees don't offer too much of an obstacle.

Hole #8 is another 420' or so par 4. Wide open fairway until you get to the last 20'. The basket is tucked in another grove of trees. The easiest approach is from the right side of the fairway as the basket is tucked in on the left side of the grove.

Hole #9 tees off in the woods but opens up to a wide-open field. The drive acts like a tunnel shot as there is a large tree on either side of the "tunnel". It finally funnels down into a grove of large trees surrounding the basket at around 20' out.
