Pros:
Well-kept piece of property with some topographical shifts, mature trees, water in play on five holes, and other amenities such as playgrounds, pavilions, and restrooms.
Great course infrastructure: Double-chain Innova DISCatcher baskets, level and sizeable concrete tee pads, informative permanent tee signage.
The course flows well and is easy to follow. I appreciated the way the patches of woods and sections of water in the park were used in the course design. There is a series of holes with gaps to hit (holes 6-8), but the challenge on most tee shots involves scattered trees to be avoided. There are four tee shots that play downhill and one or two that play uphill. The rest are relatively flat. Hole 2 is a short toss across the pond, hole 5 plays with water on the right for the length of the hole, and hole 14 has the creek behind the basket. Holes 15 and 16 throw back and forth across the creek, though it will not really be a concern for most players. Several baskets are placed on hillsides, offering rollaway possibilities, though thick grass mitigates the risk.
I enjoyed holes 13 and 17, two-shot holes that offer choices off the tee that will dictate different paths to the basket on the second shot for different players. Both also have significant (for Houston) hills and OB danger.

Cons:
There is a grouping of holes in the middle of the park that feel like walking back and forth in a field throwing discs. (Holes 3, 10, and 11). To be honest, hole 1 feels like that, too. It isn't a very inspiring starting hole. Considering the set-up of the property, I think they did what they could in using that space.
There are 2-4 short "anybody can reach it" holes and 2 long, two-shot holes. The rest of the holes all fall in that 320-450ish range that creates a lot of "drive and pitch-up" situations for most players.
On two of the three days I played there, random park users who were oblivious to disc golf were walking on the fairways. In both cases, I believe they were parents of kids playing on nearby sports fields. Be on the lookout, especially on holes 6-8.

He was much-discussed by the locals and I saw him once across the pond from 5's basket and once hanging out in the fairway of 5, about 10' from the water. He might be an interesting photography subject, but then again, he could eat your baby (much like a dingo), even if your baby happens to be an 11x Roc or a cherished mini marker.

Other Thoughts:
Overall, this is a fun track that offers more variety than most courses in the area. It is well-equipped, well-maintained, and offers a decent mixture of shots.
The directions just took me to the park entrance. Drive straight into the park until the road Ts, turn right and drive until it Ts again and you will be looking at the tee pad for hole one.
If your disc is near the water, survey the area for SEC mascots before you approach it (and I don't mean course Volunteers).

Pros:
The nice new tee signs with par and distance
Wide open space .
Good layout .
The pavilions with bathrooms water and shade .
Not so crowded

Cons:
The drive down the gravel , in my opinion the start should be in the first parking lot when you enter . I usually start there anyways because driving all the way over is not Necessary you could also start at pavilion one .
The ant piles , massive ant piles .
The rusty barb wire fence . I really don't like having to go on someone's land to recover my disc . It's not apart of the park and in my opinion the hole is two close to there property.

Other Thoughts:
A very long course during the hot summer bring a bottle and stay hydrated my friends .

Pros:
New course well designed for the amateur player. Some longer holes, good use of limited elevation changes. 3-4 very nice wooded holes and then 2 holes that use the lake effectively and 2 that use a creek as well. Good usage of trees throughout and lots of fun to play!
Cons:
Course layout on DGCR doesn't match up with how the holes are labelled out there. Hole 1 has a post with a 6 on it and on. Looks like they expanded the parking lot on the lake side and changed things a bit

Very welcome addition to the greater Houston area! Love to see new courses
