The course on the hill 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 27, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Mostly wide open holes all on a gaint hill. Enough trees that create a challenge. The hill angles come into play on nearly every hole, not many flat shots here at all so that is a unique challenge. A little water to start things off, don't throw a hyzer on the first few holes or in the water it goes. Many short holes that tempt you for that ace, throw right at the pin and you have a chance. The fairways are mowed, so losing a disc here is not that common. Many of the holes are either straight or bend to the left, therefore it is a good place to bring beginners to. Cement teepads and baskets are in good shape. Very popular course in the area, and lots of nice people to meet. Hole 17 is the highlight of the course, roughly 800 feet downhill, let it rip! New signs were added recently which are in great shape.

Cons:

Very popular and therefore busy, go on the weekend and expect to wait on nearly every hole. Lots of beginners on the course which can take them a lot longer to play and you have to wait. Trash can be an issue on some of the holes. Watch out for broken glass and goose poop on the first few holes. Lots of navigation issues, though the course is open and easy to see, so just look around a bit. Next tee signs would be a plus, if not on the ground by the basket then on the teesigns.

Other Thoughts:

An interesting course in the fact that it plays on a giant hill. This will make you learn how to read the fairway before throwing or else you may get some bad rolls after it hits. Enough trees to create a challenge, but nothing too difficult with them. This seems to be a beginner friendly course, many have learned to play on this one. Nothing really special about this course. I have played here several times and just get a little bored. It lacks that unique feel to it. A seasoned player can eaily shoot under par on this course. A solid beginner course or a place to try out some new discs to see how they fly. Line shaping and creative shot selection just are not required on this course.
