Everything is par 3 and rather close - it's great for beginners who can't throw long distances but still want to have fun. They sell various different discs on campus and the course is full of variety, which is probably my favorite part. Not lots of traffic. Whether it's creeks, avoiding giant trees or trying to go down the side of the slope at hole 10 - I've never played the course and didn't have a blast.

Again - it's a close-knit campus and there might be pedestrians/traffic here and there. Other than that, flooding during the summer can sometimes present challenges for any of the holes close to the creek.

I have to say this was a very unique course. While some of the holes look like your run of the mill city park course in the Chicago area, this is not like many I've played. On the one hand, it was a pretty fun round with some impressive elevation change and dropoffs in places. The water hazards were similarly a pleasant surprise, with a large pond and a large "creek" running across campus.

As others have noted, the biggest con here is the safety issue. There was almost nobody here on a Saturday morning and by all accounts campus is rarely crowded but wow, I've almost never seen another course this badly laid out with respect to safety. Nearly every hole is throwing across a walking path or road - or both. Several holes make hitting a building likely, and it's a mix between classroom buildings and dormitories. On hole 14, the basket is about 4 feet from a building behind it, so if you overthrow at all you'll nail the building like I did - though the brick wall didn't seem to be too offended.

The holes on this course are very short overall, which didn't bother me, with a lot of fun attempts at birdies. Some may see this as a con, but this is a pretty casual round and can be fun if you treat it that way. The navigation is definitely not straightforward here and you will need the map on DGCR. Some of the flow is very illogical. It's impressive they wedged 18 holes into the middle of campus, but you can see the liberties taken to do it. In particular, I noted a few issues that would ideally be alleviated. From hole 3 to hole 4, you basically have to walk all the way back to the beginning of the 3 fairway. The same situation exists between 6 and 7. By reversing the direction of the second hole in the pairs, the flow could improve significantly.

Some of the throws are not clear until you've scouted the course, even with the map. Hole 10 is a short throw to the right down a very steep dropoff - at first glance you'd think you're avoiding this cliff, but nope, the basket is halfway down it!

I really enjoyed 18, where if you throw relatively straight with some power you'll be fine, but with the pond to your left and the creek to your right, any mistake will land you in the drink. The creek here was quite powerful and quick moving - not sure if it is always like this. This course was very well maintained overall, with the exception of a few missing tee signs. The campus is clearly well tended.

This course wasn't particularly challenging, but I did have a lot of fun. If some of the safety and flow hazards were resolved, this would definitely deserve a 3. With that said, I don't think I could play here if there were more than the handful of people I saw around the course. The stress of trying to avoid nailing someone would be high. I do recommend coming out to try the course if you end up nearby. I really do think it's kind of cool, just also kind of weird in some ways. The campus is technically a private college, but there's no access control and nobody cared one bit that I was playing the course.

We play this course regularly. It is very short but many challenges for accuracy. There are buildings that come somewhat near the fairways but I have never hit anything/anyone. Water runs thru and several holes comes in play especially throwing #3. We play weekdays and weekends. The campus has never seemed busy especially 2020 with almost no one living on campus. Yet they mow and maintain very nice.
During business hours, gate may have an attendant but they allow anyone on campus for playing this course.
We park in the large lot closest to hole #1 (Volkman Residence).
I rarely see other disc golfers and the ones we see are not students.

Judson University's disc golf course is a mixed bag of interesting shots and insane fairways. I played it on a Sunday when it was in the 40s and thank goodness no one was on the campus (seriously I didn't see a soul outside a car) otherwise I would have surely hit someone with a disc. Most of the holes play too close to everything a disc golf course should avoid.

A map would be helpful.

If this course ever gets busy, or this university shows any signs of campus life, I can see injuries and complaints coming ahead.
