Nice place to learn the game

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 10, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice little 9 hole course on the church property. Designed to get new players into the game and provide a great place for families to play.

The tees are a mix of the existing asphalt and some natural, baskets are new red banded Disccatchers and are all in great shape. Installed correctly and level.

Some challenge as there many shots have the OB concrete and a couple of hole have some trees that come into play.

Signs are not yet installed but the posts for them are and numbered as well as many holes having red number markers on the ground to indicate the teepad location.

Dispite the small size there is some shot variety.

Nice effort in a smaller property!

Cons:

It's a fairly basic 9 hole course with few amenities beyond the gracious hospitality of the church for making it publicly available.

Most holes are under 250, with the two exceptions being wide open in their sports field.

Could be played easily by most players with a mid and a putter, or putter only if you have a good arm.

Design wise the only issue I had was the woods on hole 7 aren't cleared of underbrush, and the line to get around could take you onto the main road if you were overzealous.

Have to be conscious of when you are playing and careful of car if you aren't experienced.

At times this place will get very busy and they have asked not to play during services or if they are having events. That's only a con since there are times you can't play, not docking points for that.

Other Thoughts:

It's a nice little effort from some people who clearly have the youth and families in mind. That's amazing, and kind of them to make it available to the community.

If you are a serious player, ride up to Etowah or Oregon Park for more of a challenge, but if you are passing through and want to stretch your legs within reach of the interstate/and some great restaurants this is nice diversion. My favorite Thai place is like two blocks from here, hit it up if you like curry!
