Big Oofs on a Little Course

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 6, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

- There's baskets at a campground if you so choose to stay here. It seemed like a nice little quaint place to get away for the weekend.

- The owner seemed like a nice lady despite what the only uDisc review says.

- It's private and you are probably going to have this one to yourself unless other people staying here decide to give it a shot.

- There's a private parking lot with some porta potties so you can relieve yourself after or before the round.

- Distances on the holes were ok. I was expecting them to all be in the 90-150 foot range... which some of them were.

Cons:

- Oh boy.. where to start. The course design is pretty awful. It was more than likely designed by a non-disc golfer so do not get your hopes up with this one. About 80% of the holes have no real line to the basket and you will have to pretty much just poke and hope for the best. Hole 7 plays with a private backyard fence all to your right which is a no-no in DG course design. Any tiny bit of wind will send your disc right over the fence.

- The entire course was underwater and the water had a brown film on top which was pretty suspect as I think it might've been runoff from sewage. Not the greatest thing to have your feet soaking in the entire time. Granted, I came during the spring on a warm sunny day after 3-4 days of heavy snow so it was definitely pretty wet. I'd say it's best to come here during the summer or fall.

- Tee signs are just stakes in the ground with the distances written in yards (sigh..) and also hole 9's sign says that it's hole 8.

- Baskets were some unknown very cheap brand that caught ok I suppose but I can definitely see this not playing nice with a more stronger putt.

Other Thoughts:

Well this was what I pretty much expected from the few things I've heard about it. The course is just an amenity for campers who stay here. There's absolutely no reason to drive up here to play this one unless you are camping here or you are the absolute most hardcore masochistic course bagger. The other course that's nearby is a 6er that is pretty much the most boring course ever so again, this one is for the most hardcore of course baggers.

Also, like I mentioned earlier, do NOT come here after the spring thaw or you will be playing in poo water the entire time.

Campground course

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 5, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

9 holes of disc golf through some a beautiful walk in the woods

Cons:

Really tight lines, tall grass in some areas

Other Thoughts:

Perfect for a fun round or for a quick little warm up. The lines through the woods are there but limbs from the surrounding forest will knock you down if your not spot on on some shots. Overall I loved it played it like 6 times in 2 days
