Pros:
+ I'm just going to flat out say it. I think the previous reviewers hate for this course is unmerited. I think it's an incredibly fun course and massively underrated right now. It should be between 3 and 3.5, not 1.75.
+ There's an awesome variety of holes. There's an elevated, 500+ ft open shot, several ace runs < 200 feet, an under the bridge shot, a couple holes of traditional "park" golf, and some really well designed holes.
+ The flow is good. If you take out the walk between the two sections of the park, I'd say it's great.
+ Very clean and taken care of. It would be easy for the city to give up on the disc golf course, but it's clear that the maintenance here is ongoing.
+ It's on a very pretty piece of land. It's ideal of disc golf. The park holes (1-2, 16-18) could be a bit dangerous, but the majority of the course is on land that seems to be exclusively for disc golf, which is great.
Cons:
- I could see the rough being pretty terrible during the summer. I played in November and it wasn't an issue, but I could certainly see the risk of losing a disc, especially on the downhill #12.
- I would love to see better tees here. The dirt was fine, but it wasn't ideal. Similarly, the tee on #12 didn't allow for a long run up because of a bench or something, which it definitely should. That was a big oops in my eyes.
Other Thoughts:
All in all, I was very pleasantly surprised with the course here, especially given previous reviewers ratings. I think it's massively underrated as it stands and should be given a chance if you're in the area.
